After her promotional tour in Japan at Mezamashi TV and Tokyo City View, Charice flew to Thailand where she was honored to be a special guest performer at a private concert celebrating the 100 Years Anniversary of Siam Commercial Bank (SCB). SCB is a top bank in Thailand and in fact is the oldest Thailand bank established one hundred years ago when the country was still known as Siam.

A Thailand press release describes the internationally renowned singer as “a young Filipina singer, internet sensation, and a global star in the making… her videos were uploaded online by fans and gone viral, which soon attracted attention in America and led to her appearances on Ellen and Oprah. The starlet released her first English album in May 2010 with the backing of legendary Canadian music producer David Foster.”

While in Thailand, Charice stayed at the award winning Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel in Bangkok where she was greeted warmly and stayed at the hotel’s most luxurious suite overlooking the Chao Phraya River. Many celebrities have called the Royal Orchid Suite “home” when visiting Bangkok. A brief glimpse of the suite can be seen on the hotel’s promotional video and photos at royalorchidsheraton.com

As expected, the pilot episode of American hit show Glee’s Second Season sent another set of tunes to the higher echelons of the US Billboard Hot 100 – with two songs featuring Filipino teen singer Charice Pempengco.

Aside from giving the YouTube sensation two of her highest-charting songs yet on the tally, the feat also allowed her to surpass a record of R&B/pop singer Beyonce – when Charice’s Glee cover of “Listen” charted higher than the former Destiny Child singer’s original. Read the full story

Charice’s debut on Glee last Tuesday was impressive as it turned heads and raised eyebrows for those who don’t know the Filipina singer. Well, unless you’ve been following this young pint-sized singer from the Philippines on Oprah a few years back. Charice has been a regular guest of the Oprah Show the last 2 years, appearing five times. Her latest was when Charice launched her debut album ‘Pyramid’ last May. Once again, Charice rocked the Italian audience when she performed as a guest in a singing competition “Io Canto,” aired live 23 January in Canale 5. She sang six times during the show in which she showed the best of her singing prowess running through her favorite songs like “I Will Always Love You”, “Listen,” her own single “Note To God,” and a spectacular neck-breaking performance of her first interpretation of a song in Italian, “Adagio.” Read the full story
