As part of their ‘Holiday House Raid’ special segment, “SNN”, which is broadcast on Philippine station ABS-CBN, was given a guided tour of Charice’s family home in Tagaytay.

Ne-Yo expressed his interest in collaborating with Charice when they got to talk at the backstage. In a TV interview with Charlene Gonzales in the The Buzz, Charice was asked about her most unforgettable Hollywood moment thus far.
“I think the ‘cutest” moment I’ve had was when I sang with Ne-Yo,” Charice said.
Charice and Ne-Yo sang Michael Jackson’s “Earth Song” during the Hitman Returns: David Foster and Friends, a show taped for PBS.
“We were at the backstage and he was there at a corner. I was so shy so I didn’t have the guts to approach him – I’m a big Ne-Yo fan,” she said.

After the town-fiesta singing contest in Batangas and Laguna, the next stop was television. Charice began as a contestant on Filipino local channel, Channel 9’s Bulilit Kampeon [Little Champion], a little-known singing contest hosted by Pilita Corrales. Charice won as third runner-up and eventually became one of the program’s co-hosts. After the show folded up, she joined two other TV competitions: Birit Bulilit [Little Belter] on Channel 13 (where she was first runner-up and the “MTB Popstar” segment of Magandang Tanghali BayanM [Good Afternoon People], where she won second place. Even though she played a small role in Hollywood film “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel,” Filipino international singing sensation Charice was thrilled that some people have noticed her in the hit family movie.
In the sequel to the cartoon characters’ 2007 worldwide smash, Charice plays herself, the biggest rival of the chipmunks in a singing competition. The 17-year-old songstress sang Alicia Keys’ “No One” in the film distributed by 20th Century Fox. Read the full story

MANILA, Philippines – International singing sensation Charice has been named ANC’s “Newsmaker of 2009.”
The 17-year-old songstress, who received 47% votes in a poll conducted by ANC, has beaten 4 other strong contenders, namely former president Corazon Aquino, People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao, CNN Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida and King of Pop Michael Jackson.
