Sporting an elegant and sophisticated look, Charice once again graces an international magazine and this time it’s Marie Claire Malaysia. The interview happened during the David and Friends Tour Concert just before the dreadful and unfortunate death of her father.

In the interview, Charice displayed her heart of gold by trying to help people in sharing their talent via Twitter or You Tube.

She also told that despite her success she tries her best to maintain a normal teenage life.What is a normal teenage life by the way? Simple! Shopping, going out with friends to watch a movie, playing in the arcade, texting, surfing the internet and dating. Speaking of dating, sorry guys that romantic activity has to take a back seat for now if it concerns Charice. You have to wait for a while. (Better yet, ask Mommy Raqz permission first but before you reach her you have to get through Carl..LOL!)

The article has wonderfully shown how Charice became more mature and confident in answering the questions. She is no longer the little girl with the Big Voice. She is now a lady with a VOICE TO CONQUER THE WORLD AND OUR HEARTS AS WELL!

Despite a somber end to a great year because of a family tragedy, Charice bounces back right away in 2012 – and what better way to start the new year than with a bright, colorful and edgy cover on the Philippine’s top fashion magazine.

Preview describes itself as the Philippine’s style bible, and Charice is a great choice for the cover and a spread that’s all about modern minimalism.

Charice’s personal style has never been over the top, but still attention-grabbing in an edgy, boyish way (see photo on the left).

But it’s been a shock to some people on how Charice looked on the cover, so they called-out the magazine for using too much Photoshop.

Nevertheless, it was proven that only the usual post-processing were done on Charice’s photo (e.g. removing a pimple on her cheek).

And that the transformation was done through dramatic make-up and the addition of faux bangs.

Plus, it was the Philippine’s top talents who were the ones in charge of Charice’s photoshoot: acclaimed photographer Mark Nicdao, celebrity stylist Liz Uy, veteran make-up artist Juan Sarte, expert hairstylist Buern Rodriguez and top creative director Vince Uy.

One glance on the cover below and it’s so obvious that that’s the one and only Charice, right?

OCT. 27 UPDATE: INTERVIEW VIDEO ADDED

During her trip to Singapore for a two day performance at the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Charice also did a one-on-one interview with BBC Worldwide. And after just two weeks, BBC anchor Rico Hizon reveals that the interview will be aired on October 13, 2011, Thursday. That’s just four days away, so Chasters, are you excited?

Rico Hizon also made some photos that were taken during the interview available to the public. Seeing the 9 photos (posted below) gives us an excellent sneak peek for the upcoming interview. Rico Hizon’s captions for each photo are also included (though some have the same captions).

Charice is so articulate and confident and more importantly down to earth!

Launched just four days ago, Charice’s new album topped  iTunes-Japan’s Pop Chart amid radio promo gigs and the comeback of the David Foster and Friends Concert Tour.

As of 12 MN of October 9, Charice’s new album entitled “Infinity” is on the top spot in iTunes-Japan’s Pop Albums Chart as per Apple’s website. Interestingly, wrapping up the top 10 list is Charice’s Japanese self-titled debut album, which has been in the market for over a year as of press time.

Other notable entries that made it were “Luv Songs” (Che’nelle, #2), “Step” (KARA, #3), “Born this Way” (Lady Gaga #5), “Come Away with Me” (Norah Jones, #7), “NOLZA” (2NE1, #8).  “Infinity” also ranks second in iTunes-Japan’s Overall Top 10 Albums.

Radio Appearances

Charice has been busy promoting her album in the past few days. Just earlier today, she appeared in Tokyo FM’s  “Cosmo Pops Best10”, where she talked her new album and answered questions from fans.

“The message of the title [Infinity]… is never-ending love, never-ending hope, especially (in light of) what happened last March [the Japanese Earthquake/Tsunami]. They’ve been supporting me (for so long) and now, this album is like my support for them,” she said.

Several of the album’s tracks were played, including “Far as the Sky” (also the theme song for the Japanese drama series “Bull Doctor”), and “New World” (the theme song for the English version of the upcoming console role-playing game “Final Fantasy XII-2”).

On a lighter note, Charice was also asked about her roots.

She replied, ““He [Dave Duenas/FalseVoice] posted this video YouTube ‘cause I joined this contest in the Philippines. It was like American Idol there, but I lost. (laughs).”

“You lost?”

“Yeah but I made it to the finals! (laughs)”

Asked about what singing means to her, Charice said, “Singing is my passion… Every time I wake up in the morning, I always think that I can’t live without singing. Even if I’m not performing, even if I’m just in the house, in the bathroom, I always sing!”

David Foster and Friends are back!

In the same interview, Charice also mentioned the upcoming first installment of the Hitman Returns: David Foster and Friends Asian Tour later this month.

Performing with Charice and David Foster are music greats Michael Bolton; Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire; English tenor Russell Watson; and classical-crossover prodigy Jackie Evancho of America’s Got Talent.

Charice was asked about how much David Foster influenced her since he took her under his wings.

She replied, “He changed me as a singer/artist. I’ve learned a lot from him – not just being [how to be] a great artist but also as a person. He’s a really nice guy. I am very blessed to having him as a (part of my) family. He taught me a lot, aside from my English (laughs).”

Charice’s New Album “Infinity” is now up on sale in iTunes and Amazon.

Hitman Returns: David Foster & Friends Asian Tour will officially kick off on October 19 and 20 in Japan’s  Tokyo International Forum Hall A. After the Japan concert, the group will also perform in Malaysia (October 22), the Philippines (October 25), Singapore (October 27 and November 2), Jakarta (October 28 and 29), Thailand (October 31).

Charice’s album launch yesterday in Tokyo was an event of many firsts for her. It was the first ever concert where every song she sang was from the album, “Infinity”. It was also the first time she performed with the Acuvue Dance Contest winners. And of course, it was at that event where the public first heard Charice singing “New World” live:

It’s been three weeks since the announcement that Charice will be singing the Final Fantasy XIII-2 theme song has been made. There was a lot of buzz from the gaming and music communities about this collaboration between an amazing singer and a legendary game franchise.

Charice follows in the footsteps of Leona Lewis who also lent her voice and song, “My Hands” for Final Fantasy XIII. Both of these artists also released the Final Fantasy theme song as part of their own albums. “New World” by Charice is the second track on her newly-released “Infinity” Japan album.

The J-pop/RnB market is really hard to conquer as Japan has a very strong local music scene that’s bursting with talented artists. But Charice has made great progress in capturing the Japanese market. She’s making even more headway by teaming up with Japanese songwriters and producers, and for “New World”, it’s Koichi Tabo of famous J-pop group Superfly.

For Chaster gamers out there, the Final Fantasy XIII-2 game will be released on December 12, 2011, and Charice’s song will be included in all the U.S./Canada, Europe copies of the game, and in the Xbox 360 copies for Japan and Asia. For those in Japan and Asia who owns a Playstation 3, your game copy will include the Japanese song version by Mai Fukui.

UPDATE JULY 7 – For a 24-hour viewing period till July 8th 3PM (Japan time), Warner Music Japan has made the music video available for Charice’s new song “Far As The Sky.” This is the theme song for the Japanese TV drama “Bull Doctor” which airs Wednesday evenings on Nippon Television Network.

Charice was in full force party mode last June 14 at Bowlmor Lanes in New York City. Chasters present in the event were equally upbeat. Partying with their idol that close might have made them high, or maybe just seeing Charice that bubbly made them happy already. The party was a 2-hour event filled with food, games, and music. This was the official campaign party for Lifesavers Gummies Flavor Vote.

Videos from Chasters present in the event showed Charice playing ring toss, ski ball and other games, singing along to her songs played by the DJ, signing autographs, and just having a really good time. Aside from partying, Charice was also hard at work giving interviews to the press. EW.com has already posted their interview with Charice at their site. They were impressed by Charice’s naturally powerful voice that sounds good whether live or recorded. EW.com also asked her about being back on Glee season 3. Charice answered that she would love to return if the Glee producers want her to. They were also very entertained by Charice’s Justin Bieber imitation. Another interview from the Lifesavers event was put up by HollywoodLife.com, this was the second one they have posted. For those Chasters who badly wanted to attend the Lifesavers Gummies campaign party but can’t, they prepared a photo collage to show their support for Charice and Team Orange. In an interview with HollywoodLife.com last June 14, Charice revealed exciting details about her upcoming music videos for “Louder” and “One Day”. Just a couple of weeks ago, news about the “Louder” music video stirred-up the web and gave Chasters something new to look forward to. And in this recent interview, Charice gives us more info like the estimated release dates for her videos and a few tidbits about her busy schedule.

HollywoodLife first asked Charice about the shooting date for her “Louder” music video, and she reveals that there’s no actual fixed date yet. That’s quite a bummer alright, but Charice did say that it’s possible to start working on “Louder” next month. She does have a good reason for not doing it right away – she’s really busy this June and she’ll be heading off to Singapore in a few weeks.

But the best part of the interview is when Charice announces that the “One Day” music video will be released sooner. With soon, I mean real soon, as she’s actually going back to L.A. on June 15 to rehearse the choreography for “One Day”, and will start shooting the video the day after that.

Charice is definitely busy this June, with Acuvue’s “One Day” video, her sophomore album preparation, plus the Lifesaver Gummies Flavor Vote promotion. HollywoodLife.com’s interview was actually done during the Lifesaver Gummies Campaign Party, which Charice hosted at the Bowlmor Lanes in New York City. Checkout videos from that event here.

Aside from the release dates of her videos, Charice also talked about the possible story for her “One Day” video. She said that she wants it to be a surprise, but she relented a bit and revealed some details about the message of the video, it’s “how to make your dreams come true but at the same time, you don’t have to change anything, and just be yourself.” Charice also said that it’s “inspirational” for teenagers, as it also says something not just about dreams, but also about bullying.

With four singles already released, Charice’s sophomore album is generating a lot of buzz and excitement from her fans. But there’s something that could still heighten that anticipation plus make non-Chasters more interested – and that is a music video.

Music videos, especially viral ones, have helped make a lot of songs and albums more popular. Take Rebecca Black’s “Friday” for example. Without it’s video going viral, the song itself might not have sold a lot of copies and rose through the charts so much. A better example and comparison to “Louder” would be Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”. It’s already a good song, but the music video made it into a phenomenon – it generated copycats, it invaded pop culture, it was shared and re-shared on social networking sites, and it got people’s interest, even non-Beyonce fans.

Last year’s “Pyramid”, which was the only song with a music video in Charice’s debut album, was wildly successful as well and even reached no. 1 on the Billboard dance chart. Since it’s already a great song, the music video can’t take credit for everything, but it certainly helps to bring more attention to Charice.

Hopefully this time, Charice will make two or more music videos for her second album. “One Day” will definitely have a music video since a contest was even put up to give fans a chance to appear in it. But this is sponsored by Acuvue and it’s still not clear if this will be a part of her album promotion. Yeah it’s wishful thinking, but another video for a yet unreleased single will be great, even if it’s just a simple one ala “Reset”. It looks like “Louder” will be this album’s “Pyramid”, so you’ll be glad to know that just a couple of days ago, Charice revealed in her Teen.com interview that “Louder” will be getting a music video.

Charice has released a few singles already and Teen.com asks her to talk about those: “I released “Louder” and “Lost The Best Thing. We’re gonna do the music video for “Louder” because I really love to dance and the song is really an inspirational song.” Chasters have long known that dancing is one of Charice’s favorite things to do, and now, she’s given the chance to show all over the world another one of her many talents.

Charice also talked about the meaning of the song for her: “I can totally dedicate that to all the haters out there. You know, like, I don’t need you. I don’t need no shoulder, you know? I’m gonna be a soldier. No one can bring me down. I’m just gonna do this and be brave. That’s why it’s called “Louder” because you being brave is so much louder than you being weak. It’s such an amazing song, such an inspirational song.”

“Louder” getting a music video isn’t the only exciting tidbit that Charice revealed in the interview. She also dropped a hint about the release date of her much awaited album: “it’s gonna come out maybe around October or something like that.” This isn’t official yet and could possibly be pushed back if her team is looking hard for the best songs they could include in the album. Plus, some other articles and press releases have stated that the album will be released in early 2012, so for now, don’t get your hopes up too much for a 2011 release. But do pray that this happens, as a new Charice album will be the perfect Christmas gift for everyone.

Charice also confirms that the search for the perfect album title is still on, “We’re still thinking about it. I’m still working on some more songs right now to put on the album and still gonna work on the music video, but once we finish all that, we’re gonna think about the title and the release date.” Lots of things about her album may be unknown yet, but one thing’s for sure, Charice is giving all she’s got on getting this album done. She’s already collaborated with some amazing people like Nick Jonas and Bruno Mars and teases, “I can’t wait for my fans to see the back of the album. For sure, they’d be like, ‘Whoa, really? She worked with them?’ ”

Charice also let all her fans know on Twitter yesterday that she was at a photoshoot. Perhaps she’s shooting the cover for her next album. Or since it’s still a little too early till the album’s release date, maybe it’s a publicity shot for her next endorsement? Or a poster for her appearance at the next David Foster & Friends concert? We’ll be excited to find out what’s next!
