Charice was the special guest for the West Coast Dance Explosion’s Final Showdown Gala last July 6, 2012 at Mirage Hotel, Las Vegas. She performed some songs from her Infinity Tour setlist – a cover of “Without You”, Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and “Saving All My Love For You” and her own “Louder”.

It looks like Charice will be busy again in the next months with her X-Factor Philippines stint as a judge and her new movie with Salma Hayek and Kevin James, “Here Comes the Boom” that is coming out this October.
Charice’s current hair and look
In this video during the show, Charice talked to the audience and said, “No matter how I look I feel so happy…I felt depressed that alot of people told me what to do…and it just made me feel unhappy.” She recalled that there was a time that she was sad and crying. Then she thought of getting a new hair cut. She made the first decision in her life and it made her feel happy. Looking at herself in the mirror, “that’s me, right there!” She even left inspiring words, “Love yourself and be yourself.”

David Foster said that Charice’s training with him was like earning a four year college degree at Harvard. I absolutely agree without question that a hands on one-on-one training in music with DF would cost more than any Ivy League College in the US.
As a judge at X Factor, Charice brings millions of viewers on a world wide scale to watch the show, she brings controversy, hate, curiosity how she would like at any given event, you name it, she brings it. These are all the right ingredients
for a successful reality show. All three other judges without a doubt have shown excellent interaction with competitors, I can not think of anybody better than those four with KC, the prettiest face on Philippine TV doing an excellent hosting job.
The problem with somebody like Leah Salonga would be a tendency to be too technical, too professorial, too strict with her judgement which could make a boring show. I don’t believe that would be the right mix. People don’t realize that Simon Cowell was just an office clerk, no music experience who became successful developing reality shows.

Your comment tells a sad story of a person that grew up in a conditioned and controlled environment where the word “NO” had influenced your negative attitude and mindset as a person.
Charice’s biography had no indication that she was influenced by a negative mindset that is why she is, what she is today. Always moving ahead, but thankful and mindful of the kindness of people that have helped her along the way.

I was sorry to see one of her girls as the first one to go. Jerrianne Templo is a really good singer and Joanne Da has a very unique tone to her voice. I think the judges gave it to Joanne because Jerrianne’s looks and height may have worked to her disadvantage — she looks like many of the too many other beautiful and tall actresses/singers in PI at a time when I sense that pinas is searching for someone knew and different to represent who they think they are now and their place in international music scene. Individuality and uniqueness will make KZ, Joanne Da and Kedebon stand out.
Can we get some kind of new thread going? This one has been here since May. It’s August.

I think the article you presented makes a lot of sense where Charice is concerned. Both are hardworking and dedicated in what they do, their presence remains very strong today as when they were discovered and introduced in the world of music almost five years ago. Both have managed to stay on top of their games where lesser talented artist would easily have faded quickly after their “so called 15 minutes of fame is over”.
The world of music knows Charice and Arnel are special talents I don’t think in the history of Philippine music there will ever be like them. While Charice continues to evolve in her music and on her stage persona, Arnel continues to elevate his music IMHO I think he is better than the original and can compete head on with any rock artist in the world. Critics and haters are still hard on Charice, I think only a Grammy win would shut them out. Critics have been kind with Arnel.
In the years ahead when Charice and Arnel would become part of music history, when the Music Academy of America honors them for their contribution to music, Filipinos will be more appreciative that these two great talents have brought honor to their country.

I watch xfactor and it appears that Charice need not stay in the philippines for long. They taped the show and Charice now is in the U.S. She lives in the U.S. Is she in the Philippines? I never see her on TV except for those taped xfactor shows.

I think Charice choose to stay in the Philippines (here coz i’m Filipino) is because to show her nationalism and respect and also love to all her fellow Filipinos.
though right now, manny Filipinos are not positive about her, she’s like trying to win the heart of Filipinos coz it’s very important to first win your countrymen before you go outside or to foreign countries.
i know like what you said that she doesn’t need to stay here, becoz she has better future future and career internationally, but that is what she wants
i guess it is her sense of self-fulfilment to gain your countrymen’s love and support.
that is very important.
I proud of Charice doing that, though a bit worried beCAUSE RIGHT NOW she’s out of HOLLYWOOD’s SPOTLIGHT
I HOPE THAT US FANS would not forget her…
That’s my only wish.
Please Continue to love and support real talent.
thank you

A Charice web junkie and very proud of it. Awesome! You’re an advertisers dream target market. Did you know an artist makes $2 for every phone ringtone sold, $1 for every CD sold but only $.10 for every single or EP sold. Keep your purchasing power up on Charice products.

I got my Charice’s albums from Amazon, no sweat. People from Australia, Germany, France and Brazil are also looking for them. There is a lot of demand but lack of supply.

“LOUDER” in the video above is Charice’s original but you decide not to see it due to your extreme prejudice. Well, if you want instead to hear “Till (the moon deserts the sky)” or “You Needed Me” then go to the bars and night clubs and not here. Go and enjoy your kind of music.

Filipinos generally recent other peoples success. Charice knows what public resentment is all about she still experiences hate from detractors that refuse to accept her rise to international success. Her association with David Foster and endorsement from Oprah Winfrey fueled those hatred.
I think you’re right to say that Filipinos have experienced enough fatigue from the “birit” genre. Honestly, I believe there is no nostalgia for it but Filipinos would not welcome change until some music god from the western world tell it to their faces. This girl KZ from XFactor is the antithesis to birit. Her success could change the present state of the music industry in the Philippines and Charice could play an important part of that development.

You guys have been watching too many sites for free, it’s a shame you’re showing your ignorance in this site. Do yourselves a big favor. Get out of that bedroom and spend some money and watch a concert or a play of any artist, I bet at the end of the day your cynical views of the outside world would have been improved.
People that go to these events have a better view of the world.
