X Marks the Spot and the Spot is on Charice!

Indeed our greatest treasure ever; Charice is back again in her home country for the X Factor Philippines.

Last May 14 Charice arrived in Manila showing yet another tattoo, which reads, “I never knew true love until someone broke my heart.” Awww!! Tissue please. Oops wait; before you guys starts to cry…sorry but Charice won’t be sharing her story.

In relation to her new ink; according to her whatever she does (putting tattoo on her arm) It always has a meaning. She does not do something just for the sake of doing it.

sign X Marks the Spot and the Spot is on Charice!

“Pag naglalagay ago talagang may meaning. Kasi ayoko na naglalagay nang basta-basta na lang. Bakit ganyan kasi ganon. Actually it’s a true story but I’d rather not tell the story. I know a lot of people kapag nabasa nila ‘yan makaka-relate,””

You’ve got to love me for what I am for simply being me…as the song goes by the Carpenters and the same can be said for Charice. With her new and edgier look, the most talented girl in the world couldn’t be happier.”I’m extremely happy. Unbelievable! Like I could cry! Showing my tattoos, showing my hair, showing my outfit, I feel more free,” as she told the press.

In addition she also stated, “What you see right now is the real me. What you see before wasn’t me. A lot of people around me like in the US, like in here, they didn’t know what I really want. They were deciding for me. Like they were deciding, ‘Let’s do this, let’s gonna do that, do the curly hair.’ I didn’t get the chance to decide for myself. Now that I’m being so independent, while it’s early, I really, really want to tell all the people that I don’t care if you hate. I don’t care if you don’t like it,”

A lot of people also has been questioning about her sexual orientation and Charice has this to say, “I don’t care whatever you think. As long as my fans love me and support me forever, I’m good with that. Whoever stays with my until the end of my career or whatever, those are the people [who trust me]. The others that still have doubts, questions, who are confused… I will understand.”

As for Charice’s haters, what are her parting words for them? “To all my haters? Hello!”

Almost all of us doesn’t know Charice personally. We based our comment solely on what was written. Don’t know who were present during the interview and where was she interviewed. Those changes she’s doing to herself doesn’t bother me and to a lot of us here I am sure. We see quite a bit of that in Hollywood right? Just like I said, everyone is entitled to her own opinion whether it seems wrong to you or to somebody else. For me everyones comment is important because thats how they feel. I believe nobody could think he or she is right, and the other person is wrong. We are all her fans, not her mom. And everyone reacted in different ways, so let it be. I could see you have a very good, and positive outlook for her future and we’re happy for people like you. Comparing her to the likes of Alicia Keyes and Adele allow us other contributors in this site, to be inspired, but then again it remains to be seen. So if you may, whatever other fans feeling of what’s going on right now with her, Just let us be.

I meant no particular fan.. i was just browsing the comment section and it’s a little odd why some are calling her arrogant. That was just my point, we don’t know her personally to say she is arrogant. I just feel bad coz she’s just a kid… lots of criticisms for a kid when she’s just doing her job and being great at it and lots of Filipinos bash her and not exactly sure why. I just feel bad.. I mean if she was my sister, or my daughter or my relative, i’d feel bad to read comments like that when people have really no idea who she is and what kind of person she is. lot of artists put themselves in bad situations that gets the worst out of the public harassment and Charice is just doing her thing but still gets a lot of negativity. It’s just sad sometimes.. especially from her fellow Filipinos.

Since you broaght up Arnel, remember when he changed the tune of the PH anthem his excuse is freedom of being an artist? Can’t Charice be seen that way also? Just her own expression? Then the arrogance attitude thing…well I ve seen and talked to Cha personally and many here are the same that it is actually the exact opposite…The dont care answer is for the haters non-stop bashing…

There are crazy fans and there are avid fans. I am an avid fan and I really don’t mind the change. It just seems like she loves what she does and doesn’t really care about the fame. so there. it’s the fans who want the superstardom.. like justin bieber or those pop artists. I just want to say hype is not always followed by quality and popular doesn’t always mean good. If she is passionate enough, and i think she is, she’ll get wherever she wants to go. Seriously, I don’t think she cares if people outside will love her, as long as her small circle does. I see her more going to be like Alicia Keys or Adele in the future.. quiet from the news, no crazy antics on MTV or award shows, but gives the music you really want to listen to. It’s not all garbage in the radio and Charice does deserve to be heard more but listen, it only takes one song to be played on the radio so let it be.. she’s young, works hard, loves what she does. It’s just crazy how some of the fans are, people, you don’t know Charice personally so get off the high horse like you own her. She has a mother.

    just my 2 cents!

and also regarding her “I don’t care comments”, you gotta hear how the question was asked too.. if it was inappropriate, I’d answer the same way. and it’s taken out of context because of how the articles are written but if you listened to her interview, she doesn’t seem defensive but just stating the fact that she doesn’t care about the criticisms. Just get all the facts first before making any comments.

I don’t know why some comments are being hidden. They should not be. Those comments and the commentators have every right to their opinion. We’re all fans of Charice here, otherwise we would not be wasting our time coming to this site. Frankly I myself comes here just to see if there are some new development about her career, then I end up reading these things that are written. We did not come to this world looking alike or else it would really be so boring. That’s why, there’s different countries, different cultures, languages, different styles, colors, a lot of different numbers, religion and beliefs, etc., etc. Each one is entitled to their own opinion even in this site I believe. You might be surprized we all might end up agreeing with one another after a long, civil discussions of things. We don’t have to be angry, just let everybodys points be heard and to be understood. Those who dislike what one had said could reply instead of putting a checkmark on the dislike word. How would we know that it is not only one person that check all those likes and dislikes. So you think we’re ok on this guys? I’m also asking administration if they’re agreeing to this. If not, well at least I put my 50 cents on the table.

I was devout Charice fan previously. Now? I just don’t know anymore. Before I get attacked here, let me explain why.

In this aarticel charice did mention that in her past she felt that she was’nt the person she really want to become. Likewise she stated that she doesn’t care what other people think of her now.

Lastly, she started dressing up like a boy,…..sans hair and attire. For anyone here who says otherwise that she isn’t, then tell me what style of dressing-up is this anyway? Those tatoos are dead give-aways……not feminine designs but angsty tbird statements.

Charice the artist is fine, but Charice evolving into someone we don’t know anymore is another thing. I supported her in her previous persona but not this one. This one is a complete stranger to me.

Lastly, with this change and mind you she seems not to give a damn, but curiously, after thie metamorphosis, news and events about her seem to dry-up. tell em what is her next big thing for a little while?

This is the backlash from fans who were utterly shocked in Charice’s rveleation from a sweet but plucky inncoent girl to a blooming tomcat. Impressions do last and that enchantment just broke and those mesmerized then are now wide awake.

Charice, you are 20 yers old now, your novelty of being a child singer days are over. As an adult, you are fair game to other better adult artist than you. before being a ingenue’ and prodigy made you very special….but as an adult?

If you have maintained being what you were before, perhaps legions of your adoring fans would not abandon you. Those whos stay are just blind fanatics and die-hards.

Adios muchacho(masculine)…enjoy your new found gender!

As far as Charice’s attire is concerned, it hasn’t changed much at all. For instance check out her May 9, 2009 appearance with David Fosted and Friends – wearing jeans and sneakers. If you view all her performances over the past four year there aren’t many instances where she is wearing a dress – mostly jeans with high heels (she is sensitive about her height). During this time right up to her most recent Christmas concert no one was calling her a tomboy or lesbian. Then she cut her hair and all of a sudden the knives came out. The statement “I don’t care” is a defensive mechanism against these innuendo’s thrown at her by the filipino press and other critics. I’m sure she cares. But she has been hurt and undeservably.

Of course I’m happy of what Charice had accomplished with her young life. Doesn’t it show. Seems like it’s obvious that i’m trying to make comment about a not so good attitude that will pull her down instead of up. If it’s ok for some, then so be it. But we want those people to know that she has some fans here that also wants the best to happen to her career; For her not to lose something good that she worked hard with David Foster and possibly Oprah, for the last 3-4 years. Hey why can’t we all agree to disagree. We all know that we want the best for Charice, we just have opposing ways to deal with it. Right? For your comment “it was taken out of context” I don’t know what was taken out of context. Are you just saying those words because it sounds good? True Arnel had used drugs and the good thing is, he was upfront about it. Right when he started with Journey, we all know right away that he had used drugs before. You are right, he is older and more mature than Charice. But Charice is also maturing. Can you imagine she is now 20 years old. Doesn’t Maturity means (most of the time, not always) change for the better, not the other way around. So like I said let us all Agree to Disagree instead of criticizing and have those name calling in this site. I think management of this site would like that. You know have a very civil debate about a common subject w/c is Charice.

She is happy and just accept it and support her. Using Arnel as an example is great since he at least change his ways even in the later age. remember he used to have long hair? But comparing this to Cha is so ridiculous! We dont need to be picky so much, opinions is Ok but know your boundaries and lookaround you first and try not to be hypocrite

I don’t know if you hear anybody from here attacking Charice with some unnecessary mean comments. If there is anything, it seems like everyone were so protective and very proud of her. If you do know of an incident where a fan of Charice from the US and Canada talk bad about her, that’s news to me. Well maybe you know something that I don’t know. But I for one doesn’t know or hear of anyone being critical of Charice.. The comparison I made between Charice and Arnel is not in regards to their singing, but their attitude. Hey they broke into the American music scene almost at the same time, so how come he stays humble without any attitude. And for Charice staying in the Philippines more than the United State, it really doesn’t bother me. Maybe that’s what she wants. A celebrity in the Philippines. There’s nothing wrong with that. Who am I to get upset. I just thought that was her dream to get big internationally and what better place to start being world renowned other than the US. If Celine who is Canadian, Boccelli, who’s Italian, Rihanna from Jamaica, Phil Collins, and Rod Stewarts who are both British and a lot more comes here, there must be something good for for them to be here. If Simon Cowell did bring almost those British shows he produced in England like American Idol, X Factor, America got talent to the US, well’ “I Rest My Case”.

Charice is a lesbian? Really?!?! Maybe not… 8[]

I sometimes style my hair in a cool Asian boy cut [those Japanese or Korean rock band/celebrity/etc.], I am not a lesbian though :9 believe me, I fantasize about Sasuke or Itachi or Kakashi or Minato or Orochimaru xD and I am 21 years old, only 1 year older than Charice. But why do I really fancy making myself look handsome? COZ THOSE HANDSOME BOYS, WHOM I HAVE CRUSHES TO, ARE MY IDOLS! What would some die hard fan do sometimes? Copy their idols. Now I have a new idol added to my list…the cosplay goddess Miss Alodia Gosiengfiao!!! Shes the new one I’m trying to copy 8[) i.e. Dolly eye contact lenses, double eyelids, exercises, (thanks to her coz she motivated me to workout, now my abdomen is shrinking! Ahaha ahaha)

In short, there is a probability that the source /influence of Charice's fashion statement came from an idol of hers. For the hairstyle, we can link the cool female character from final fantasy 13 :D being lesbian is not the only reason why a person would cross dress or dress boyishly/tomboyish.

When I was still twisting my long hair to look like a shorter boyish cut, I was a die hard fan of L'Arc~en~Ciel, a J-rock band. And because they walked so cool[and manly], I assumed the same walking style, thinking that I would look cool as well, but when my crush’s polo sleeve brushed my bag[I was so attentive, it was like I felt the sleeve touch my bag xD] I rushed[not so manly anymore, more like wobbly, jelly-like :0] straight to my classroom and gushed about it with my friend.

So let us all think first before accusing someone of something. Get some solid proof. It is almost like saying you saw a UFO when what you saw might only be a flying ang glowing toy of someone who wants to play a prank :9

    I’m rambling, I’m sorry.

Idk, I’ve almost been carried away by all the negative comments that I read, that I was beginning to think negatively of Charice and lost interest in Charicemania, but I just love Charice. I can’t ignore her >`<

Why’s everybody huffing and puffing about Charice. Look I think she has 2 sets of Filipino fans. The ones who are living here in the US and Canada, and of course the other sets are the ones from the Philippines and other Asian countries. The people living here in America and Canada had not seen nor hear anything about Charice. The only news that we know about her is what we read from this site. So we sort of wondering what happened. We really don’t care about the changes that she did to herself, like being blond, a different way of dressing, and those tattoes. This is no longer surprising to a lot of people. We’re used to that from all these famous celebrities here in Hollywood and New York. What we could not understand, why the sudden arrogance. You know the “I don’t care attitude”. But with a lot of comments that I read here, quite a few seems to say it’s ok with them. Since Charice had been a recepient of a lot of criticsms, and malicious attacks before, so it’s about time she has to start being this way. I don’t know about you, but for somebody who’s trying to have a succesful career here in the US and the world, a sour attitude at the early stage of your profession is for me a big turn off for a lot of your fans. Like i said before an entertainer, I doubt, could survive with just 20 or 25 number of people as her diehard fans. They have to have hundreds, or thousands, or millions of people to be on their corner. Let me use another pride and joy of the Philippines as an example. Mr. Arnel Pineda. They started being known here in America almost at the same time. But humility is still with him. Whether some of you would like it or not, he is by far more popular not just by Filipinos but by Americans and people from Europe and South America, of course because of the fact that he’s a member of a legendary band. And he is a lot richer because Journey have concerts in different parts of US,Canada. South America And part of Asia for at least 6-8 months a year except 2011. I had the privelege of seeing Arnel and Journey twice here in L.A, First at the Greek theatre and the 2nd time at the Hollywood Bowl last year with 18,000 people in attendance. Celebrities like TV stars, Movie stars and Famous football and basketball stars being driven on those stretch limos. But he is so humble and so nice with a ready smile. He had cut his shoulder length hair real short and also sporting a lot of tattoes on both arms, but nobody said anything. That seems to be the norm now Right? having those tattoes. What i’m saying is the arrogance sets them apart. We’ll see, maybe she’ll be popular again anytime soon, but for now here in America, there’s nothing about her. Hopefully when they will release that movie she’s in. But to Charice, remember not to lose a number of your fans that had been with you here in America and Canada. We did not talk bad about you nor compare you to any female singer from the Philippines. Our understanding was, those were from your own country that had done it. Your fans here from the U.S. and Canada were with you 100 percent all the time. And you don’t want to lose us.

I think you are on denial if you think that no one from your region (US and Canada) is criticizing and attacking Charice. I think in fact most of the malicious attacks are coming from somewhere overthere. You might not comparing her to any other female singer from the Philippines but you are comparing her to Arnel Pineda who is a male singer from the same country with lots of tattoos also. So what do you have against Charice staying in the Philippines for as long as she so desires and not trying to have a successful career in the US and the world at this point of her life?

Bottom line. Charice has earned the right to do what she wants, but I can’t believe that smile she gave us at meet and greets was not genuine. That the hand shaking and whatever she wore was “not her”. But she’s growing up and has a new perspective at this time. Hell, we all had growing pains and why not Charice. Life is a learning process and I respect her choices – it’s her life not mine.

That being said, when you’re in show biz some of it is an act and there are times when you have to wear different costumes for the appropriateness of the performance or appearance. For example at the “Red dress” event she was at in NY, or a duet with Bocelli you have to play the part. Some performers have upwards of ten or more wardrobe changes when they are on stage and with wigs and dresses it’s easy to do.

Final thing is sometimes to be tactful. There are different ways to say things to get your point across – straight to the point or sugar coated. Just saying if you apply a little honey, you can still explain yourself without offending. When she says “I don’t care”, it comes across as kind of harsh. If she said something like “I respect your opinion, but I have to do what’s right for me – what I feel to make me happy”, then she would be saying the same thing for the most part; with less possibility of alienating some longtime fans. There’s certain times when to go hard and other times when to go soft. Just my opinion.

Anyway, I will continue to be a Charice supporter and I look forward to seeing her in concert when she comes to my area.

That’s too many tattoos, and not even attractive. I hope she knows how to cover them when she get’s hired to work on another movie. Charice is probably going through a phase of a successful teenager who has made a lot of money, and she’s living it up a little. I remembered a story about supermodel Paulina Poriskova when she was young and very much in demand, experiencing success, she would do table dancing when she went out at the clubs. Remember also when Angelina Jolie was a bit wild at first? This is probably the equivalent of that, Charice is becoming a little brat, wanting to experience being free for the first time to do anything she wants. It’s probably gonna taper off when she turns twenty-one. I suppose she has to get it out of her system. Let’s just hope she doesn’t go overboard and do more things she will regret later on.

Charice is in the entertainment industry, ye olde kabayans. Don’t you get it, Charice is not like you and me, all her young life is all about music and the arts, she’s an artiste, she’s young and she’s trying to live her life the best she can, so let it be, let her be. She sounds great and looks great. Chaoster, kabayan, your name really says it all about you.

basta ako, even thou Charice change the way she looks, she is still the same Charice I used to love, admire and served as my inspiration. Even thou she change her style, she’s still the number one Charice I know.

    Every shadow has a doubt
But there’s a light they can’t put out
And it’s shining through the clouds

  24. Alou says:

I think that Charice’ evolution stems from an event in her life. What it is? Who cares? May it be a change of hairstyle or a tattoo, I see it as a way of marking the start of something new…an evolution. Look at KC Concepcion. I’m pretty sure a lot of us have gone through something similar….marked an event in our life by making drastic changes. I know i have. She actually reminds me of a girl who cut her hair short and got a tattoo when she got her heart broken….me! So lay off Charice and let her evolve! She is young and has yet to experience life to its fullest. What more now that she can relate to all these songs. I just can’t imagine!

Just a reminder, be sure when you make some changes that it is worth it… regrets are inevitable, you know. She might be happy about getting tattoos for now but after sometime, she might realize she did a mistake, however you tried to erase it the mark will always be there. As the said “a wise person learns from others’ mistakes”. She has social responsibility towards the youngsters.
I hope she won’t waste the talent she’s been blessed with. I hope she realizes before it’s too late. May God enlighten her mind and make her a better person. Look back so it may guide you towards that ultimate dream of yours.

Charice is not RESPONSIBLE for any other teenagers. Charice is in this lifetime for a spiritual experience in a human body. She will continue to explore, discover & learn for her own growth and richness in spirit (& material, why not). She is who she is and will be, based on her total experience.

Fans have the FREE WILL to be INSPIRED by Charice. We can attempt to “will” her to become responsible for our children, but that is not going to happen, unless she chooses to be. Charice will continue to evolve and vibrate towards her inner desires. People who do not have the same vibrations with her will just fall off from her radar, and new ppl with like vibration will join. Simple law of attraction.

I am an observer of Charice, and I delight in what a see. In itself is an experience. A sharing of true Love & Joy. Peace to you all.

Like it or not, there is a degree of responsibility for Charice because of her status as a celebrity or public figure, mostly because of how she was discovered, her story and what she represents to a lot of her fans. That was how she became really big! It’s a personal decision if Charice is true to what’s she said in the past saying “it’s a big responsibility!”. She has to be careful in what she does and says. Part of growing up? Yes, and a personal choice if she wanted to be a role model for young people. It’s her choice to be or not to be a “role model” for others. Which my hope is she stays consistent of what she does and says in the past, if she wanted to maintain her “other” fans! (that’s how these other fans fell in love with her aside from her singing). Otherwise, she will lose some to new budding similar artist like this girl in this week AI finals, and the other forgiving fans like myself, hope that things change for the better. She is young and for us she’s still our princess! In the end, it’s Charice choice and we should respect her for that. We are all FREE to move on in what direction we decided to go…!

“This is who I am and you’re not going to change it.”
“And growing out of her squeaky clean child star days was truly liberating”.

Sound familiar? That was Miley Cyrus in today’s Yahoo news answering her critics as to how she dresses. Miley is 6 months younger than Charice. Perhaps this type of behaviour is typical of girls that are leaving their teen years behind. I have a daughter(now 35) who upon leaving high school did some things that I did not approve of but I have to say it was a phase that she soon outgrew. Please be patient with Charice.

It seems to me Charice is really hurting… i don’t like her tattooing all over her body – maybe in ten years she will feel differently – then its gonna be painful taking erasing those tattooes. Recall Angelina Jolie?
When you are an artist – you should care about your image that you are projecting, though. People work so hard to arrive at a certain level and you don’t want to alienate those fans if you want to stay where you are.
There are true artists though that really don’t care how they are perceived since it is more important to them to express their authentic selves.
I think Charice is the latter.

Charice is not my child so I am going to stop posting my comments- I will keep it to myself. I am waiting for her album and her movie and I will be following her X-Factor gig. Still waiting for her N.America concert tour- I will watch her for sure, if she comes to my city.
Wishing Charice all the best. I will keep her always in a special spot in my heart.

I say to hell with these superficial Charice fans. Charice gave you guys an ultimatum, either stay as her fan or leave.
This is a sign that Charice don’t need you, superficial Charice fans. She has more fans out there. Rotten few don’t matter.

You dare tell her that she needs to change back to the old Charice, this is her true self.

After what she’s been through with the harsh reality that PI media didn’t accept her purely bcoz she looked so ordinary and now you have the nerve to give your so called opinions that she’s done a big mistake in showing who she really is.

WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!

  27. AshamedtobePinoy says:

Superficial love, two words that best describe the way some of Charice’s fans here have for her.

Some of you guys say YOU’RE DISAPPOINTED, well how do you think Charice feels now that she knows that her so called fans are superficial and hypocrites.

Not long ago she was the best thing that ever happened and now after A HAIR CUT AND A TATTOO, you people are ready to crucify her.

WOW…it’s like witches hunt centuries ago all over again.

LOOK AT YOURSELVES BEFORE YOU JUDGE OTHERS!

IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, LEAVE…WORDS OF CHARICE TO YOU!

GOOD RIDDANCE! YOU SUPERFICIAL FOOLS! GET LOST!

  28. Anna139 says:

Although people were deciding for her before… Tha hair and all…She does looked pretty, and classy especially when she’s with David Foster.
Her look now does look comfortable for anyone, especially when you travel a lot, and perform, it does feel comfortable…Even for me. But fashion calls for an occassion. I hope that from time to time she will change style from this to classy looks. It shows also your versatility especially if your an artist. My 10cents.

  29. Kquin says:

I really love Charice but i must admit that thisdrastic change of her image shocked me. But like what she said there are reasons behind everything she does, i will certainly trust that. No matter what i still believe in her music, her talent and her personality being the same sweet girl the world has known her.. Ill continue to support her against all odds

  30. whatever reasons you will justify will not erase that charice is a lesbian. a girl who wanted to become a boy.isn’t it very obvious.her sexual preference has nothing to do with her being an artist.she is simply a TOMBOY.
