Charice at Sterling Notebooks & Pentel Products Photoshoot

Charice at Sterling Notebooks & Pentel Products Photoshoot

So we know that Charice has been quiet lately after her successful Infinity Tour in asia. But we are glad to share this video with you which was filmed during the photoshooting for Sterling products, January 16th this year when she visited Manila, according to her Ninang Michelle from Sterling.

We definitely miss her long black hair but we also like her short blonde look during the asian tour. It’s exciting to see what’s up next with Charice’s look.

Sterling notebooks, definitely high quality, definitely trendsetting! – Charice

After the Sterling pictorial, Charice did the Afficionado shoot and stayed at the studio from 7:00 am to to 6:00 pm. Hardworking girl!

Sterling notebooks are available at all bookstores and major department stores nationwide but at the moment, there are no notebooks with Charice’s picture on it. We’ll surely announce it here as soon as they are on sale.

Charice is a photographer’s dream subject. She is a natural beauty. You can steal a shot and the picture always comes out right.

Charice is a rare kind of beauty, a versatile kind of beauty. you said it so right, “you can steal a shot of her and the picture always comes out right”. i freeze-frame her videos and it’s mesmerizing. i really can’t explain

Change is constant. People changed. That is normal. That means we are alive. Those who think that they have not experienced change in their lives are in denial. When our idol changes her looks, style, persona, we should not be alarmed. Charice is just changing and evolving. What is wrong with that?

      @FlorOfTexas,
I totally agree with you; there’s nothing wrong/harmful with changing, evolving, improving and experimenting. That’s part of life, to build a tower, climb a mountain, or follow a highway, because they can be done and they are there. Besides, who wants to be stale and boring?

    • Pureblood says:

To be fair, they didn’t see anything broken with her old image. In their view, there was no need to fix a look that already was okay.

I dont know about you guys but I think Charice have a different enticement with a very short hairstlye like Beibers. I think she did look stranging and gwapita or gwapito as she puts it. But she did look pretty cute and alluring, photoshop??? But what is it with the blond thing? Even Beiber likes to wear blond wigs now adays and did before too. I think they both have a fetish on blond hair. I just wanted to throw that into the data storage maybe you guys could make something out of it.

      @ huh,
People, especially young teenagers, try different colors of hair and clothes just for the experience; it’s one way to refine their fashion awareness later in life. There was a season I lived as blonde, for variety, and bought a lot of clothes in the color/palettes of spring and autumn.

Saw the vote-off of Cheesa last night. Never heard her sing before. She sucks. Sorry, I’m a consumer, I would never spend a penny on Cheesa’s brand. The “please save me” song she sang had me going back to revisit Charice’s version – ahh ohh it sounded so freakin beautiful eminating from Charice’s mouth.

Yeah, I did the same thing because Charice’s rendition of Already Gone is so awesome. If Charice was violin shed be a stradivarius. She’s ruined me for all singing contests because she’s the bar I hold everyone up to. Everybody sucks compare to Cha.

        @TTL,
After reading your comment I watched for the first time Charice rendition of Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson; I’m so happy to see this, because I’ve always compared the two of them, the similarity of energy and showmanship when performing onstage. I was probably one of the first to suggest Charice should watch Kelly’s career and be a rock star. I just think Charice has got it in her, probably because of her intense personal history with her mom and her dad, that could find better expression in rock genre. Either that or country, but I prefer rock.

  7. chit says:
Get over it some of you people. Charice is only trying to be a normal 20-something artist. She is not the queen of England who is strictly tied to one hairstyle/look as her image on her country’s currency needs to be the same for as long as her reign. What would you say once Charice changes her style again?

And if you think these people who are so into the image thing will stop, think again. I came across a blog just yesterday about Charice and it says that bcoz Charice didn’t acknowledge the question that was asked about her “true sexuality” they are taking this as yes, that she is in fact a lesbian.

It just made me so mad that I had to drill the blogger a new one. The fact of the matter is that all these filipino bloggers/media, they are working together to create something from nothing.

I’m a proud filipino but if some of my fellow pinoys can’t stop acting like dush bags, I think I have to change my username to “Ashamed To Be Pinoy”.

I can sense that some(straight?) people are homophobic, while some(gays?) are in desperate need to claim celebrities as heroes to be on their side; I think any of these reasons for asking the questions about sexuality are rude. It’s shameful, that other people can’t be just happy when one person(their own kind) becomes successful. In their jealousy they have to dig out or make up some dirt just to put the successful person down; it is so backward of them.

Instead of acquiescing to the norms set by local showbiz, she more than thinks outside the box, asserts her identity with authority, and fiercely makes her own career statement. It’s unfortunate that others view her damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don’t attitude as arrogance. That’s pure courage, I say. It’s that very same attitude that propelled her to where she is now. Taking the road least travelled (by local showbiz standards) puts her in a league of her own. What a girl!

Charice, Troy, Cheesa and Cortney and the band are like a family. All of these people, watch over Charice, don’t you get that.

And who cares if Cheesa copies Charice, a lot of young girls want to be like Charice. Aren’t you happy for that, Charice is such a big influence on all these people’s lives. How did your mind got so twisted like this?

Charice is a total babe hottie. Man there sure are a lot of sad sacks out there whining about dumb stuff. What I know is – hottie girl is a millionaire, owns her own crib in L.A., and drives her own Audi. And, if what I heard comes to fruition, the finale of Idol could present us with a good shocker. Whah! whah! her hair! her tatoo! her this! her that! whah! whah! How many of us were millionaires at nineteen? God I love this awsome young woman. She took on the establishment and forced them to accept her brand. I’m sure there are plenty of ASAP girlies for all you babies to love and admire. You whiners are anchors that need to be jettisoned overboard – bye bye (I hope)

@ Katrina – I wish all Charice fans follow your common sense. You see the bigger picture of her fame & Stardom. Our responsibility as a Fan are essentially to – Support (e.g. go to her concert, buy her music), Appreciate her talent, be in “awe”, be entertained, spread the “Cha-Word”!!

and for Charice — To work as hard as anyone else, to entertain with her GOD given talent…and bring in the dough (money) at the end of the day to feed, shelter, & to take care of her family…

the entertainment world is about getting attention…the more you get it… the more money comes in your way…

Now that Charice got your attention by the way she dresses (praise and criticize) –> who you think won? — Charice of course… did you get a single cent by saying “she looks %#$&!!!”?
      got my poing? ;-) peace!

What’s the fuss about this Charice’s hair and clothes style? As if those are “permanent” stuffs. She can change it as often as the trends changes-to suit the showbiz world. So what’s the fuss?

I’ll just wait and give her enough time to realize if she did right. Who are we to judge in just a short time. OK she may have lost a few hundreds conservative fans – But what if she gained few thousands of modern more liberal fans? Who can verify this at this time?

I’ll still wait. That’s the best thing I can do for her. Instead of conclusively declaring outright that she’s going the wrong path.

Wow Charice you’re now in demand as product endorser. I’m sure Sterling was right when they chose you. I read that the most salable perfume of Aficionado is the one with your name or endorsed by you and on Acuvue contact lenses, their sale increased dramatically because of your endorsement. Congratulations and good luck to your future projects.

Charice cut her hair and did a tattoo to please herself. Women change their appearance all the time. She is still the same person minus the long hair with all of the attributes that you listed. I don’t know if you are married but if your wife changed how she did her hair, would you stop loving her?

@IcanRelatetoyou Wow this is the first long comment I’ve ever read. Anyway, I also used to be that fan who would always check YT because of Charice. Now, not anymore. I still like Charice, the only thing I stopped from watching her on YT, is the realization of the fact that the old Charice with long beautiful black hair, doesn’t exist anymore, and I’m afraid that I will miss her… So much, that each night I will wonder why she had to cut her short and put a tattoo just to tell everybody that this is the real Charice. So the old Charice was not real? at all? whatever it is, I still miss the “not real” Charice (long black hair with simple but elegant style of outfits). As the “now Charice” (edgy look with tattoo) would say it, “the only thing you can do, is to move on”. So sad that opinion of fans wouldn’t matter, even a bit, because of being edgy is just being true to yourself. Is that it Charice? Oh well, I still love your voice, though.

        • Auau says:

Some people create their own reality and unrealistically insist on it, which is almost like a perversion. Sad to say, there are people who don’t like kids to grow up; there were rumors I heard that people in charge of young stars(like Michael Jackson, a goldmine at a young age) didn’t like them to grow up, and didn’t want their voices to change from the stages of adolescence and adulthood. Hollywood with their old studio factory are full of such stories of trying to control or reinvent stars in their looks and behavior, and sometimes their bio to the way they think the public would buy. Worst of all was putting Asians in the box, and Asian characters used to be portrayed as stereotypes. That is not how it’s done nowadays; things have changed finally, although very very slowly, but I’m sure there are still a lot of folks out there who want Charice to look like Asian characters Madame Butterfly or Susie Wong, or an fob kid with long hair. There was a story about some people people only wanting Judy Garland to be Dorothy and just sing Over The Rainbow at some of her concerts.

    • chaoster says:
Comparing Charice to Keri Russell doesn’t apply. Actors are hired for their look when they audition and should keep their appearance when they play characters that directors envisioned for the show. Musicians, like popstars and rockstars reinvent themselves all the time, from project to project, depending on what story they want to tell in their work.
I guess some people just have the unusual fetish/fascination for long hair, perhaps believing the story of Samson, who lost his extraordinary strength when his hair was chopped, and only regained his power when his hair grew back. Also perhaps the world cherishes the image of stereotypical Asian woman with long black hair. Younger people are probably more open to change/experiments in look, I hope.

Charice has always experimented on her looks and clothes. ever since, she seems to look different everytime. So, it doesn’t faze me the least bit with her short blond hair. She’s the kind of person who can carry anything she puts on, ykwim? even just her shoes on has appeal. she’s got that versatile beauty which is so nice to photograph and to video. and she’s got that unforgettable smile. try freeze-framing her videos, it’s beautiful to stare at. she’s just so charming and the charisma is there so natural.

Long hair takes about 6 to 12 months to grow back, but she might have experimented on a new look by then, because she’s in a business where she should keep reinventing herself to stay competitive.

Other than her pure voice and ability to deliver the high notes, charice does emote properly and has great connection with the audience, which is what makes her really tick. She is a perfect vehicle/messenger for songwriters, and that’s what sets her apart from any IA contestants that are being compared to her by some crabs.
