Infinity Tour Bonus: Iyaz I-Ventures Manila

What a surprise to see Iyaz’s Youtube video called I-Ventures in Manila during his visit to the Philippines. No matter where in the world he’s travelling around, he would surely find an “Adidas” store to shop.

Watch closely at 2:34, you might discover some famous Chasters in the audience!

Showtime Iyaz!

Since the video’s title says Part 1, we’ll surely look forward to Part 2 or even 3?

“Pyramid” at the top baby!

I suggest you get out of town… lol! …just kidding! I admire you for your genuine concern for your kids, but apart from Charice being an idol for your children, you as the mother should be their role model in progressive thinking. I can only advise for you to pray to the Divine Providence to give you more revelations so whatever is jangling in your head will clear; hopefully things will fall to right places, and your true values will be defined/redefined, so you can be the supermom that your children need. Peace?

congratulation to millions of chasters all over the world.Together we succeed and all for CHARICE.In the words of one of the greatest American divas Patti Labelle “CHARICE you will one day become the world #1 singer” you know what, she is just in the right track. To all very few crabs and pretenders, dig it.

@ Jojo, I like Patti Labelle; she’s got great showmanship which Charice can probably learn from. Also Anita Baker, she can make a whole lot of noisy, inattentive crowd in any venue listen to her, and that’s magic.

Because tabloid news is no news at all. All they have in their papers are nothing but trash. It’s the reason why America is so divided right now, everybody wants to read or hear something that is not true. Why do you think Fox News is thriving? Charice will have her time some day. Why do people like you are so in a hurry for worthless shallow glory? Great people in this country didn’t come out from nowhere without paying their dues. Nobody ever paid attention when President Obama was doing the real work trying to organize and empower the disadvantaged until that fateful day he decided to speak out and let the country know who he was. And the rest is history–unless, of course, if you’re a Limbaugh fan or a regular Fox News subscriber…

      Scoop’s probably the 2 who disliked what I said. I don’t know how he/she did it…

Can’t I be a little political here? I wonder how old you are, whoever gave me the dislike. If you think there is no politics going on in Hollywood, you’re living in fantasy land then.

Did you know that Charice never really expected to much from the very beginning when important people like Ellen and Oprah took notice of her?
She’s not your average Hollywood bimbo who would do anything short of being a porn star (literally) to get noticed by the big shots. And believe me, that’s politics.

One thing I won’t forget is that when somebody says something so honestly compelling, I know they’re being genuine about what they think. Charice, when she stated here in the US said on an interview in Filipino that got stuck in my head, that every time I hear or read people saying stuff about her that’s not nice, I revisit those things she said. Sabi nya(she said):

“Hindi naman po habang panahon ganito, kaya nagaaral po ako para kung mawala man lahat ito meron akong ibang maasahan”

That is why I know Charice has no average intelligence despite her enormous talent that some marginally talented people are lacking. Most people here tend to forget that, or perhaps don’t even know Charice was that sensible about her outlook in life. It’s one thing you always expected from somebody who went through a lot in life and took the challenge to be somewhat successful like me, or in Charice’s case, a success that one could only dream about.

WE LOVE YOU CHARICE…NO MATTER WHAT…

When I reread this comment, I noticed some things that didn’t quite make a lot of sense to me and some misspell as well.

Just in case some readers thought I was trying to say Charice’s intelligence is less than average, it’s the way I typed it that must have created the confusion. On the contrary, I was trying to imply that Charice do have a more than average intelligence level compared to some marginally talented performing artists.

        I hope that clears.

They just wish they’re in Charice’s shoes enjoying the celebrity that she has. They’re envisioning themselves as Charice meeting all those people, wishing they’re the ones who had to worry about how they look and what to wear. They forgot about why Charice was there for in the firs place. Charice was invited to perform a tribute song for Whitney that Perez requested her to do. She did not go there to get noticed and outdo anybody. If the tabloids, like one person was wondering below, didn’t pay attention to her, it really didn’t matter to Charice, I bet you. This is what these fashionistas and glory mongers are not getting in their simple minded extremism towards Charice’s style.

      It’s a birthday bash! It didn’t say fashion show…

Charice hair is beautiful when it is long like mine.
Well she should not cut it. She could just wear wig if she wants short , like I do And I want long hair , I don’t wear my short wig!
That’s simple! By the way, I got my trendy short wig in New York. And it looks natural. So many women wear wigs in New York to look different and stylist!
Well, Charice , let your hair grow long again, in the meantime , use they call it extension . Rihanna has long blind hair extension , I heard you said you like her image. Rihanna always change her feminine look. while the grunge Arvirl lavinge , her career is down. She just one hit and that’s it! Grunge artist don’t last in holliwood .
    Alright …
If you want to wear wig , don’t scared. It’s a trend and fun!

I think that J.Sanchez is overrated. When she sang that Whitney song, she was a bit pitchy if you ask me. I don’t think she’ll win, my guess is 3rd or 4th. Thia has a better voice and she lost, so I don’t think she’ll bring it home.

    Well, well, well
My statement in here is for the better!
    And for good suggestions:
Short hair is a no no for rounded and elongated face but very good for square jaw line.
If you are tall :if you wear horizontal lines design of clothing will makes you look a little shorter and if you are short person never ever wear horizontal or zigzag design cause it will make you look shorter and fat .wear vertical clothes with vertical lines will make you look taller and if you are short, wear heels ,it will make you look curvy especially if you are a little heavy, heels will make you look sexy.
Now mix match with clothing and bling blings and look on the mirror or make a habbit of
Looking for trendy magazine for your age .
If you are a teen girl, H & M is a trendy store for you for reasonable price. Holliwood stars wear clothes from this store. No Cosco please or Conway .
Wear light make up- most Asians has beautiful complexion and don’t need too much make up!
    Be simple!
Be fashionable at least! Holliwood stars wears down clothing on their daily life like us but if they have to appear in public, they dress properly.
Take my advice wether you are Charice or just Charice’s followers or not, dress up properly in every occasions!

@Fashion guru, I appreciate you for your effort to write these suggestions, and for trying to help. Most of what you say are true if we have to look at fashion as art, however fashion is sometimes more than that for the person who wants change. Sometimes it is more about the emotion, so the change is a reaction to what the consumer is going through in his/her life. Read about when Marilyn cut her own hair short and the studio had to fix it for her to promote the look as a trend? Remember the time when Britney shaved her head, then her grew her hair back while using hair extensions for a while? How about when Liz gained so much weight and wore caftans? And the boys nowadays who wear baggy pants, waistlines hanging below their hips? Fashion is a statement of a soul, saying I’m a person, a human being and I do what I want as long as I don’t harm anybody. It is an assertion, or sometimes a rebellion, or even an experiment, by a soul that is reassessing his/her place in the universe, and it’s temporary, because sometimes the person comes to an answer or resolution for his/her search.
Public figures like Charice have some responsibility to present a certain image, but we should also keep in mind they are real human beings.
And by the way, it doesn’t matter if it comes from Costco, because a person who knows what he/she wants can look good and comfortable wearing a potato sack.
With what Charice is going through in her life right now, especially after the death of her father, we should be thankful that she is healthy, happy and working; we should all welcome her new look which is actually fresh and edgy for her. It’s gonna change soon, and we should just love her the same as always.

You sound so peculiar, my friend. It will never be a crime in this country if you don’t look fashionable. Hollywood people (the inside) tends to be mostly weird anyway, and ordinary people are not supposed take whatever is coming out of there as gospel. We’re not crazy enough to buy stuff that cost more than what we earn in a year. The way you’re suggesting where to buy these stuff says a lot about your outlook in life. And not every people in this country is as rich as you are.

Charice fans are mostly ordinary people like I am who just happen to like listening to her beautiful voice, we don’t care about what she’s wearing or how she looks. And I don’t see a lot of people here like who you who always have something to say about her physical appearance. I don’t think your bourgeoisie suggestion is something of value. it’s actually annoying and sounds gay…

I’m sure Beyonce is very confident about her voice and talent but if she wants to package herself as in this picture(they used to call this pinup), it’s her prerogative. As they say, if you got it, flaunt it! She is at the right age when she can enjoy and share her gifts to the world, because you don’t stay young and beautiful forever. Perhaps she’s keeping herself up to par with(or more than) Lady Gaga and others. Somebody said there’s no morality/immorality in art, because it’s all a celebration of beauty and living. That explains why we have nudity in statues and photographs, and they are still considered tasteful art. I’m sure she(and her family, friends and relatives) can handle this, and they’re not gonna have PTSD in the future, resulting from this promo picture. All I can say is she’s a work of art, and she is a child of the universe.
Charice doesn’t have to package herself this way, because she has gift that is already tremendous which is her singing, but she can if she wants to, if she’s ready, and if she can handle it. As one playwright said, ripeness can be trusted.

The comment submission on the Perez article is disabled. I hope everyone will see this suggestion that just popped out of my head.

How about getting Charice to perform on Dancing With The Stars? My wife loves the show and I’m sure not only relatively mature or old folks, if you will, are watching the show.

I wonder if they’re doing a Whitney tribute on that show. Only Charice will give the audience the surprising wow factor with Whitney’s signature song. Do you remember Oprah’s reaction when Charice did the other song? I think this would be a better show for her to get another start with the US audience. Great Performance on PBS is a good show, but it’s not as popular as the shows on commercial broadcast stations. That’s why even though Charice had been on that program twice already, she really never got the full attention of the majority of US viewership.

Just another suggestion you might all consider if AI is not possible…

For the meantime, I’d like to introduce this song written by Stephen Sondheim from the musical Sweeney Todd, which expresses something similar to the chasters’ love and concern towards Charice who is like their baby princess. The title of the song is, and some of you might already know:

        Not While I’m Around–

        Nothing’s gonna harm you
        Not while I’m around
        Nothing’s gonna harm you
No sir, not while I’m around
        Demons are prowling everywhere nowadays
I’ll send them howling, I don’t care, I’ve got ways
        No one’s gonna hurt you
        No one’s gonna dare,
        Others can desert you
Not to worry, whistle I’ll be there
Demons’ll charm you with a smile for awhile
        But in time
Nothing can harm you, not while I’m around.
        Being close and being clever
        Ain’t like being true,
        I don’t need to, I would never
        Hide a thing from you
        Like some
        No one’s gonna hurt you
        No one’s gonna dare
        Others can desert you
Not a worry, whistle I’ll be there
Demons’ll charm you with a smile for awhile

Let jessica sing IWALY if she can, because I’m sure Charice would be happy that everyone gets the chance of a lifetime; there’s enough room for everyone who aspires to become stars in heaven, and more power to them. I’m especially proud that Charice is finally showing some good intuition just like Barbra, who btw was Whitney’s idol(I read about this) early in her career; that’s why Whitney strived to be perfect at first, and she was doing fine until she fell into some uncontrollable habits till her tragic end. Showbiz life is full of demons, who can attract anyone with a smile(part of this line is borrowed from a song by Sondheim) and I hope Charice will not come across them in her career, not with Chasters prayer.

I can say most Filipinos(the ones in Philippines) are still behind in cultural definition and political correctness(not to mention their lack of manners, as shown by the questioning of Charice by press people), although they may not admit and thumb down my comment. It’s the outlook shaped by what the county is going through economically and politically, also the lack of clarity and spirituality in the teachings of religion. Also lack of good parenting(and not just providing) to be wise and humane population. Everyone needs good parents. One become a good parent by learning from good people. You know good people when you are wise(can tell the difference) between good and bad, with absolute confidence, so you don’t become petty and hysterical at the sight of a small tattoo and unusual appearance on others. Make sense? There are some Filipinos I know and read about who are showing a lot of progress, therefore not hopeless, but a lot of them are still behind; their time will come, and the truth will set them free.

I can tell you why, bcoz the PI media people love gossips. Most of them are really not reporters or journalist that actually went to college. Most of them are homosexuals who know other homos in the showbiz industry, and that’s how they got the job. So since Charice has a clean image, they want to smear her good name just to sell their product.

They don’t think writing about Charice’s accolades and accomplishments could sell as much as the dirt that they’re creating. They think it’s not news worthy.

I’m glad Charice reacted the way she did the last time she had that press conference in Manila before her concert. Would a reporter here in the US ask a celebrity “what is the sexual preference she/he might have”? I doubt it.

Only in PI, you know the low class kind of people, uneducated people would ask questions like that.

Charice & Iyaz have established inspiring friendly & supportive career relationships since they first met. Indeed, their relationships are now stronger as and atop the pyramid. You could see Iyaz’s usual reaction, when Charice turned facing the curtain’s stage and belted the one-word highest peak in the song ,’PYRAMID’(see 2:39 of the above clip).

Charice always dazzles co-performers, famous people (like Oprah, Ellen, Josh Groban, Celine, Obama’s half sister, Perez Hilton, Bocelli & David Foster) new audiences, and fans- whenever (which is all the time)she hits the most difficult part(s) of the song with impeccably compelling delivery- that only few in the industry had done and can do consistently.

Charice has gone a long way, but she has remained truly grateful & meek, which her fans, supporters in the industry, and new performer friends (like David Archuleta & Iyaz)admire.

Charice, Pacquiao, Arnel Pineda & apl.de.ap (of The Black Eyed Peas) have brought the Philippines in the global scene- a nation of many talented and hardworking people. Similarly uniting most of Asia to appreciating and supporting Asian talents, and developing initiative to be competitive globally.

Congratulations to Iyaz and Charice. I hope that they do more collaborations, and wish them both more successes.

@1:32… he said (security/bodyguard of Iyaz) lost his wallet, credit card & ID’s. Could someone explain? I keep on replaying but I can’t get it. It seems that Iyaz was disappointed!

I’m referring to the 1st video on Iyaz Adidas shopping.

yeah, it was only a big joke ’cause people might think why a manager is buying a shoes for him… so his manager said that “he lost his wallet, his credit card and he has no money at all” big joke. :)
