Charice can retire any day she wants to. With the money she got in her pocket she can take things easy and live in comfort and luxury without trying to make a living for the next 100 years (36,525 days) if she keeps a budget of US$300 per day ($11 million). This is sufficient for utilities, services, maintenance, weekly parties and monthly travel abroad. She does not have to run any crazy race and try to please those hard to get idiots. She does not need any advice from those loser advisers. She only needs to avoid the diseases of the affluent: drugs and gambling which can wipe out your millions overnight. So, till 2112. Meanwhile, let us enjoy her songs and fairy tale life story.

I don’t think she should be judge on X-Factor Philippines, unless she is desperate for work between her concerts and recordings, which I think she isn’t. She should use her free time working on improving her value and relevance as an artist, because that’s how she will survive in the business. Music is all about emotion and identification; you bond with the consumers when they think they have some common message or experience, as to whatever is in your song. To be relevant Charice should take on some issues that are commonly facing her generation. For istance, since she just turned to be a fully grown woman on her 20th birthday;her songs should be about(or include)the plight of women and women’s rights in different parts of the world.

Alright, I really think Charice should not go back to the Philippines to be a judge on X-Factor Philippines. The showbiz industry over there is a very toxic environment for her, to stay that long, and work with many unfair dishonest people she’s gonna be working with. I think she’ll have that much influence, they’re just using her. And the shallow media people; just forget them. Remember the way she was treated; they’re not going to change, they are hopelessly and decidedly ignorant. Charice could be a good judge of the show, but not do it in PI; I’d rather see her be a judge of X-Factor Canada, if there is one, because so far Canadians have treated her nicely. Charice could have a better use for her precious time.

After all you learned, if you go back as in if you look back, you might turn into a pillar of salt, or whatever that means.
You don’t need to go back to prove that you are better, because you are already better; for one thing your destiny is already different from those you left behind.
If you want to give back something, do it in the way of donation of your time and money to charity, or some prize money perhaps, and spend more of your time to unstress.
You can also use your time to keep growing and maturing as a person, improve yourself and art by study, write or practice, get ready for the next hit album or project, or just take a breather to reenergize.
Showbiz is odd, in the way they want to keep you staying young, and yet they want you to deliver like someone who lived for a hundred years, so chose your options very wisely.
Those who love you want you to have a prolonged childhood, but they understand that you are in a very competitive business that requires you to grow up fast; stay close to those who are truly nurturing and keep you grounded.

      @ inez

Indeed, she will be. Where else can X-Factor PH find somebody who had the experience of having had actual interaction with music producers like David Foster, and other music producers at Warner, having a world class publisher and media person in Liz Rosenberg, the great Oprah Winfrey, working with music legends and superstars on DFF concerts and collaborations with new upcoming stars? These are over a 100 years combined experiences imparted to Charice in 4 years.

Charice’s blessings have set the expectation to succeed at a very high level and she knows she has to deliver without DF, Oprah and others.

    @Don’t Shoot Me,

If you couldn’t take the backlash that people here are giving you bcoz of your comment, then don’t comment. I agree with them, you shouldn’t have even entertained this question in your head. If you think you need to express your opinion on something, make sure you use good judgement on how you could word it that people won’t think that you are a crab.

If you examine your first statement, you are actually implying that Charice hid this part of her life story out just to make her dad look bad. Short of accusing her of lying.

Has it accured to you, that not once in her dozens of interviews about her life story, that she was asked, what was her relationship like with her dad before they were separated.

Obviously this is a very sensitive issue but it wasn’t her fault that no one asked her about it.

The only question that was remotely close to this part of her life story was the interview done by CNN weeks before her father was murdered. She was asked if she misses her dad, and she replied yes.

Just remember, she was only 3 years old when they left him. So only bits and pieces of her life with her dad that she could actually remember and she chose to remember the good ones after his death.

It’s just common sense that you leave out the bad memories when trying to remember deceased love ones.

Hey guys! Don’t you have anything better to do? Why are you talking about Charice father again? That’s been done, like been there done that. It’s the past thats not gonna come back and be changed. Talk about the future, lessons learned from the past that will help make a brighter tomorrow. I think that’s what Charice has done and no need for anybody else to guess what she truly feels, and what she felt when she was going through that period. What proofs still do you want? She came home, skipped performing at DFF concert, and even missed attending her godfather’s wedding. I would rather have Charice be at that wedding, hobnobbing with other celebrity guests, and hopefully chat and receive good career advice from my idol Barbra Stresand; she didn’t do that because she was genuinely human as anybody can be at the death of a father. For anybody to suggest she was OA is totally mean and callous, and to bring that back here is callous, so put that to rest, please!!!

While I’m here, I have a word of advice to Charice: You don’t have to explain nor answer questions about your father again, both in private or public. The Lord’s Prayer suggest that you forgive the other person which is, and you also forgive yourself, which is the thing you need to remember the most. Whatever it was that you wished you have done with your father, that you didn’t get to do, that’s all forgiven. You don’t have to explain your thoughts, feelings and actions; you are clear of all the guilt, so you don’t have to carry anything, and especially none to explain to the media people milking the story to turn it into a circus that they can sell. You are all right, and may the good Lord bless you all the time!

I think before her father died she always wanted to reunite or at least somehow let him know that she still care and wanted to forgive him but she was always busy and maybe coudnt find the right setting time or schedule to reach out. And was always cautious about it and did not want media feasting cause it was too personal and would have been very controvercial. Cause when you think deep about it he was the very root cause of her quest and her struggle towards her success. So when he died you might say she was OA in a way but it was probably her way of forgiving him and thanking him at the same time. Her birth dad a man she was always longing to have. And now im glad and i know she is strong enough to realize that.

Jennifer Hudsons fans must be feeling the same thing because JHud have been so quiet since winning the Grammy and Oscar awards 3 years ago. People see her Jenny Craig commercials but no news on concerts, new song releases or movies. We last saw her at Whitneys funeral services she sang a mediocre IWALY. Does that mean her career is over?

I’m sure it is the same with Charice after the completion of her gruelling Asian tour. Does her silence mean anything? I guess the only way to find out is to check out if she has something going on at Warners. Although David Foster have moved on to Universal Music, I believe he still owns 143 at Warners. I read an article that Charice’s house in LA has a full recording studio. She has the means to create her own unique sound and we hope her band is good enough to do that.

If you wrote your own biography, would you portray yourself in UTOPIAN existence or would you portray your life in real world existence, in real world events and experiencing real world problems? I have seen Charice’s story. Like anybody else’s life story, it was real…not Utopian.

In life, you forgive those that have offended you whether they’re dead or living and that’s what Charice have done.

It’s very common for Filipinos to be melodramatic; they react in hysterics without much thinking, and Charice was no exception upon the death of her father. I wish she were not, but she is; I hope she will change when she gets older. In the West, silence is considered golden and dignified, just like Jackie’s demeanor when president Kennedy died, and also Liza when her mother Judy Garland passed away; they didn’t speak very much to the press. It’s just the difference in cultural background.

I don’t think you’re a fan, no fan would even ask such question. That was insensitive and stupid.

I’m very happy for Charice for being a judge on The X-Factor. I fondly recall how i first saw Charice on Little Big Star. I just stared without even realizing it. I remember how impressed i was. I was thinking how can this young lady sing with so much maturity. I don’t watch TFC but that time all my friends were talking about this young girl in the singing contest which they were all rooting for. I watched LBS with them whenever she was going to sing. Until the time when lost in the finals. I tell you, for almost a month, I and my friends were aghast at the effrontery of the whole program to deny this talented young lady the first prize. So thats why I am so happy that she is now one of the judges in this television music competition franchise created by Simon Cowell.

Most of us have probably not heard a Dolly Parton music but according to Celebrity Networth, she is the wealthiest songwriter/artist with $950M, Bono $900M and Paul McCartney $800M. Dolly Parton is not known outside the US but she wrote a song that made Whitney Houston a household name around the world. “I Will Always Love You” will always be known as Whitneys song but Dolly Parton made the $$$.

In album production, the singer/artist only makes $1 per album sold and .10cents for every single sold, the rest of the profit go to the record label and songwriters. There’s not a lot of money for the artist but high album or single sales allow name recognition that results in demand for concert tours. Lady Gaga’s debut album for example, with the carrier single “Just Dance” only sold and topped the charts in the US and five other English speaking nations. Gaga’s second single “Poker Face” also topped the charts that gave her the Grammy. Gaga’s second album did not do very well. By comparison, I think Charice’s “Pyramid album” contained better songs than Gaga’s debut album where only 3 songs were good and the rest were “fillers” or spam songs.

Charice is a young…old pro in the music business. I think she knows what’s up?

I first saw Dolly Parton in the “9 to 5″ movie with Jane Fonda. When Whitney sang “I Will Always Love You” in the Bodyguard movie I did not know it was a Dolly Parton song until Charice sang it and I researched the song which is from the movie “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”. For me Dolly sang it the best and that includes Whitney and Charice. About 10 years ago I ate dinner @ one of Dolly’s establishments. It was called the “Dixie Stampede” where you are given a chicken dinner(no utensils – you eat with your hands) while watching a rodeo.

I’m sure she does know what’s up, but do you think she will go as far as Lady Gaga has gone? Wearing ridiculous outfits to the point that she looks weird. Or maybe a Beyonce kind of style showing off as much skin without being deemed as nudity.

I think she knows pretty much where she stands against these american artists and you know what, I don’t think she care much about it really in regards to their style. I think that’s why she’s trying this rock star image. She knows she can’t compete with them showing too much skin, so she goes rock n roll.

Or maybe she’ll just take her time, wait until the cows come home, so to speak. They are getting old right?…lol

Charice is in the same mold as Adele…RnB, soul type artist and the only singers today that do not auto tune. I think these two are the best in vocals right now with Charice having a slight edge because of her ability to perform other genres.

Charice is Warners hottest property in Asia, particularly Japan. She will be 20 in a few weeks and if success would follow her the way other stars did when they turned 20 or so, I think Charice is on schedule to be the next one.

That’s exactly what skeptics, mostly Filipinos said when Journey chose Arnel Pineda. That was 4 years ago and $16M in networth to this day, Arnel and Journey are still going strong and scheduled to perform a 20 city concert tour in the US this year.

Just like the other big stars that performed with Charice on David Foster concerts, I’m sure Bono will be hypnotized just the same when he hears Charice. David Foster knows talent when he sees it, otherwise he could have simply sent Charice back to the Philippines on day one.

The international music field is hard enought to penetrate if you are from the West and specially hard from Asian as a “pioneer” like Charice.

Western singers are imitated by Asians since I can remember. And Asians singers are not imitated at all in the West. But Charice has a chance to be the first Asian to be imitated in the West.

Charice as a “pioneer” is beloved by Asian in Asia and Asian in America and anywhere in the world. This is a definite advantage too for Charice as she will be the “first-face” of Asian in the Western music scene when they think of “singer/entertainer” from Asia.

Charice is young yet and we don’t know where all of this is headed in the next five years. But, if the past is any indication of the future, Charice is going to bounce back from all this temporary lull in her career. Do the Serenity Prayer and the BOOM will be back soon. Peace.

Just recently, I reviewed all my favorite Charice videos, as a reminder why I became such a big fan. The talent is still there, stronger than ever. To me, she still has one of the greatest voices I have ever heard. She has that certain undefinable something that Jessica Sanchez does not have. After reviewing all my favorite Charice videos, going forward and backward in time (2007 – present) I am still assured of my conviction of her talent.

Having said time, time stands still for no man. If we are being honest and listen to our gut instincts, we may never see Charice monster big in the entertainment industry like Gaga, Beyonce, Rhianna, Britney or Madonna. It’s just not in the cards for a variety of reasons that many of you are already aware of. Can you see Charice in a production that these ladies do? Can you see Charice (or any singer from the Philippines) get up and do “Put a ring on it” in the Beyonce get up? Or do a Maddona, Rhianna, Katy Perry, Britney and Gaga numbers? These ladies are entertainers, Charice is a singer and we all have to face it — although she’s an internationally known artist, her time as the “little girl with the big voice” is over. She is not a little girl anymore but she does still have the voice. So now it’s time for a new plan, a respite, a lull and a calm.

Maybe being a judge on X factor in Philippines will be good thing for her for now. After five years of being on the go, this might be the gig that will allow her to take it down a notch. Sometimes, you have to go with the flow and if that means taking yourself away from the US public eye temporarily, then so be it. I’ve seen many famous artists dissapear for a while and then come back with a vengeance. Frankly, I see her more as a brand (like Sharon Cuneta in the Phils) and involved in singing, acting and other business ventures.

Remember, she is only 20. She’s accomplished much since she was discovered. Maybe she just needs to chill out now, take time to find herself and having a permanent gig for a while like x factor might just allow her to do that.

She may not be “the” Asian artist/singer who will conquer the music industry in the manner of Beyonce, etc. but everybody will remember Charice as the one who paved the way. Folks. Just give her space and her peace and just support her. I for one will be looking forward to more Charice on video with her being on X-factor.

    Peace

hello auau and onlyme, you are both simply out of your mind. Clearly you are both desperate to even suggest such things to Charice, who is not even ready for getting involve to a relationship at all, yet alone raising a kid of her own. You both get a life instead of bashing somebody with your own insecurities! Get lost!

anybody stopped to think that maybe…she grabbed this opportunity to judge…so as to right a wrong???….she doesn’t want history repeating itself…read this…I’m sure a lot of you knows the story already…but maybe there are still some who dont…. http://blackstrung.tumblr.com/post/839196876/ten-thousand-things-a-charice-story … thats the statement of one of the LBS judge..where charice was a contestant…. charice did not join X-Factor to crush somebody’s dream…rather to help realize the dream of talented aspiring contestants….

i am so angry at your comment i do not know where to begin.

what makes you confident that charice is ready for this? you do not have children just because you can afford it, you do not have children to “lend more authenticity” to whatever you are doing and you do not have children because madonna had children while filming.

you disrespect charice, and you disrespect children.

are you thinking clearly? if you are indeed auau, you seem to have some sense based on your previous comments but there were times that what you said betrayed your lack of rational thought. this time you have not only proved that you indeed lack common sense, you have overstepped boundaries.
