Charice is still busy with creating the perfect follow-up to her hit self-titled debut album, “Charice”. The new singles that she released this year like “Louder” and “One Day” are perfect for the younger audience that she’s trying to attract to her music. But older fans are not left out because powerful songs like “Before It Explodes” and “Lost the Best Thing” still showcase the powerful voice that Charice has.

It looks like Charice’s camp is not satisfied yet with these four new singles and they’re continuing to record more songs. Fans might be a little impatient for the 2012 release date of Charice’s sophomore album, but be thankful that they’re not rushing anything and instead, they’re making sure that Charice and her fans only get the best.
And the best is what we’ll get for sure because Charice has worked with topnotch songwriters and music producers for her second album. From Jim Beanz, Claude Kelly, to the Jackie Boyz, and now, JD Walker.

JD Walker is a hit songwriter famous for his work with Auburn and Iyaz for the Billboard Hot 100 song, “La La La”. He is a native of Los Angeles but also lived in the West Indies and Jamaica, which helped diversify his musical taste. Walker is also labeled as an urban-pop songwriter/producer, so his preference for fast dance beats is perfect for the sound that Charice is going for in her new album.

1) Why was Charice not at the VMA last night? I think it would be helpful for her acceptance in the mainstream if she was seen as part of the music crowd and not apart from it. I mean, Adele was there and even though the VMA can be rowdy and sometimes juvenile in nature, serious artists also shows up. I think contractually they have to… to promote themselves, etc. Why is Charice not doing that? I’m sure an invitation is not the issue.
2) Do you think Charice can pull off a performance like Beyonce’s/Lady Gaga’s or should she just stand there and sing like Adele and show off her vocals. If Charice was performing at the VMA, or Grammy’s for that matter, what should she do? What should she wear? I was trying to envision what her performance might be like.
3) Is the VMA too “street” and not an appropriate venue for a video like ONE DAY or for someone like Charice? Does Charice have streetcred? (Besides, I don’t think One Day can qualify for VMA, it’s not an official MTV music video .. it’s a commercial, right?)
Just some random thoughts and musings on Charicism… Honestly, it’s becoming that. Some of the vlogs and comments I’ve seen about Charice are bordering on religion.
