It’s been exactly three months and ten days since the release of “One Day” as a song, and now, we can watch the music video in its full glory. I’ll sum up the video in three words: inspiring, fun, and so Chariffiic!
About three hours ago (as of this writing), Charice tweeted one of the best tweets ever. It couldn’t come at a better time, as Chasters all over the world were waiting with bated breath for something new from her. Her tweet was actually one word long (plus a hash tag and link) but it summed up perfectly what fans were feeling, and it’s so great to know that it’s what she’s feeling too. Here’s her tweet:

Charice’s dancing in the video is really awesome. The whole number is short but sweet, and is the perfect ending to a very upbeat and fun song. The story of the video is also inspiring: it pushes you to dream and achieve it. Nick Jonas did an excellent job in writing this song – it shows how much of an artist/songwriter he really is.
In the video, Charice acts as a “guardian angel” or a “fairy godmother” to high school kids. They don’t know she’s helping them, but she’s there keeping an eye and improving the outcomes of certain scenes in their life.
In short, the music video is a perfect interpretation of the song. Acuvue did really well in picking Charice as an endorser and brainstorming up a promo complete with a theme song, a contest, and a music video. So let’s wait and see who the lucky winner is. Lucky indeed, as he/she will spend a day with Charice as a mentor.
On Acuvue’s official YouTube page, the contest is already closed, and the winners will be announced on August 7. So that’s only a week away. You can see the video entries of the contestants here.

As for @Atan, I hear ya and second the motion. Unfortunmately the world ain’t perfect to ignore all the “race stuff.” I could do without all the turnoff Filipino/Asian comments too. I agree with you music is the universal language, not gifted pipes. When Charice comes out with music on her next album that transcends skin color and the shape of her eyes (meaning EVERYBODY really loves the beat and song lyrics and not just Asians supporting one of their own), then she’ll get popular in America and Europe too. She deserves the fame and recognition

I agree with you too. Many people who claim to be “true fans” of Charice no matter what are also those who “proud to be this, proud to be that” are so freakin’ ethnocentric that is so embarrassing. What is there to be proud of? That genetic code of the Philippines is superior when it comes to singing by the gift of god? This kind of talent can be developed/cultured/etc. all over the world given the right circumstances and time? What people should be proud of is the fact that Charice broke some – if not all – social and racial barriers just by what she has accomplished right now, and that she will hopefully one day open more doors. Let’s just see Charice as a human being with talent, transcending just the racial factor.
