Touchdown in Tokyo, and the Joy of Giving, the Chaster Way

Touchdown in Tokyo, and the Joy of Giving, the Chaster Way

We’re on the plane 30,000 feet over the earth flying over the vast Pacific Ocean, on the way to the one place on Earth where all Chasters dream of being… Tokyo, Japan! We’re here for the debut of Charice’s first solo international concert at the behest of our benefactor who wishes to remain anonymous, whom we will simply call “Chaster Clause.”

The idea to bring us all together began simply as Chaster Clause was listening to FanTalk radio as a caller was saying that she wanted to save up money to go to Charice’s solo concert in Japan. Well, he thought, that sounds like a good idea, what if he could make it happen? And from that simple phone call was birthed an idea to create a truly unforgettable experience to bring together chasters from all over the world to enjoy one of the defining moments in Charice’s musical career, her first full-set solo show after the release of her debut international album, taking place in Tokyo, Japan.

And so his e-mail began:

“Dear Admin, Sometimes manna from the sky falls and you don’t know why it happens. I want to ask you, will you be available for a ‘special’ event from February 20-24, 2011? I’d like to call it the chasters ‘heads of state’ summit.”

Thus was the start of a plan to bring together chasters from all over the world, to Tokyo, Japan, to witness our Princess light up the stage for a full solo set, after nearly a year of watching her sing 2-5 songs per appearance at various locations throughout the world.

By the time I received that call, there was already a full-list of Chasters who had committed to being available, for an event taking place coincidentally around the same period of time as Charice’s debut concerts in Tokyo the following February. I received the call from my good friend and Chaster brother, Sideburnersol, who was Chaster Clause’s messenger carrying that same simple question: “Will you be available for a special Chaster event from February 20-24?” Not knowing what I was committing to, and only trusting in what I knew could only be something truly amazing, I blindly said, “Yes, I’ll be available, count me in!” And thus, the journey that led us all to today began that fateful day in November of last year, as it also did, for several other Chasters who join me in Tokyo, as today marks “Touchdown in Tokyo” Day, and the start of our amazing Chaster escapade to witness firsthand, the solo debut international concert of our own Charice.

Unbeknownst to I’m sure the vast majority of readers here on CM, parts of our journey have already been shared with all of you as you might recall reading the crazy adventures of Mooffin and JustCharrie to secure tickets on the very first day that concert tickets were made available for sale. Mooffin and JustCharrie recounted The Most Intense Minutes of our Chaster Lives as the tickets were selling out faster than anyone could blink. Their part was to secure the tickets (Check ✔) but the journey to today involved many Chasters doing their part to arrange lodging accommodations, transportation arrangements, and of course plane tickets for this once in a lifetime event.

But now we must turn our focus to the one who made this all possible for us, the mysterious Chaster Clause.

The Joy of Giving, the Chaster Way

One would wonder what would drive a person like Chaster Clause, to extend such an offer, of inviting fellow Chasters from all over the world, providing for their flights and accommodations, and even the tickets to the shows? I posed this exact question to Chaster Clause, who simply replied, “The Joy of Giving, because it is, the Chaster Way.” Clearly, none of us on this trip have ever received a gift of this magnitude, and without fail, all our initial responses were one of complete shock, followed by a feeling that this gift was simply too much for anyone to accept. I know I voiced my genuine feelings to Chaster Clause stating that there were countless other Chasters who were far more deserving to be a recipient of this gift than I, as I asked him to reconsider giving my slot to another dedicated Chaster. Yet, Chaster Clause was not so concerned with which Chaster was more deserving than another, but rather, who he could simply bless with this overwhelming gift, with no expectation of receiving anything in return. This gift was not a prize for being the most ‘dedicated Chaster’, more as it was simply Chaster Clause’s pure-hearted desire, to play his part, in benefitting the entire Chaster community as a whole. It didn’t matter to Chaster Clause whether the blessed Chasters were long-time Chasters, new Chasters, young or old. The gift was simply his way of emulating the effect that Charice has had upon all of us as Chasters. Thus, Chaster Clause brought together a group of Chasters assembled here in Tokyo now, to provide our absolute best efforts to cover Charice’s first solo show in Tokyo for the benefit of the entire Chaster community. This is Chaster Clause’s gift to all of us here on CM and the entire Charice-fandom.

Many of us on this trip had to forego other obligations to commit to being here long before we knew the specifics of what this trip would entail, and yet, we share in this immeasurable JOY of participating in this truly once-in a lifetime experience. We here will do our absolute best to provide the highest video coverage of the two shows in their entirety, while I will write up a full CNN report for the first night’s show in Tokyo, as Artemis will use her pen to capture her unique point of view for the second night’s show the following night. There are several gifted videographers amongst the Chaster group here, who will put on their “Ninja Chaster” outfits and dutifully embark on their mission. I am sure there will be many anecdotal stories to share following the 4 days here in Tokyo, all on account of Charice, and of course, Chaster Clause. Now I am sure many here will want to find out the identity of Chaster Clause, but all those in the group have been sworn to secrecy to keep his identity hidden, so that he may continue to remain in the shadows, until it is time for him to re-emerge once again. I simply ask our fellow Chasters to respect his or her desire to remain anonymous as Chaster Clause is doing all of this, for the love of Chasters all over the world.

Charice, at just the tender age of 18 years old, has shown us all many things through her life, one of them being the will to persevere through hardships and every single challenge that seeks to bring you down. Charice also brings into our lives the pure JOY of being mesmerized by the once in a generation talent of a small little kid from the Philippines who is slowly taking the world by storm. More than anything, it is her heart that draws us all beyond just the sheer talent, and her heart that draws out those like Chaster Clause to engage in such remarkable acts, as exemplified in this Joy of Giving, which also embodies the Chaster Way.

We here in Tokyo are honored and privileged to share our experiences with our entire Chaster family over the next following days. It is the least we could do, to share in this gift with you all, and participate in the Joy of Giving, the Chaster Way.

Stay tuned for the first videos and reports here on CM following Charice’s first show in Tokyo on the evening of February 22! All for the Love of Charice, and a sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to our dear Chaster Clause for making this Chaster dream become a Chaster reality! :)

I hope Lantao and Web are included in your group too. Charice will be so ecstatic seeing all of you there. Enjoy and happy sightseeing. Japan is really lovely. I’m a chaster from Central America, my country’s name is El Salvador. I had tears in my eyes while reading this article and I believe this is the kind of reaction Charice has on people…the Joy of Giving. For Chaster Claus, thank you so much for your kindness!!! Though I’m not part of that group of Chasters who had the honor of attending to Charice’s first solo international concert…thanks to you, all of us will have the opportunity of enjoying every video, and detail from our fellow chasters and this experience makes everything even more special and overwhelming than it already is. Thank you so much :)

I want to call him, if you may, Santa Chaster, the patron of Chasters.

Charice must have done something to him that he is able to do this, or maybe it’s just how he is.

Santa Chaster made a lot of people happy, including me, though I am not one of those lucky Chasters, knowing that, through his generosity, more people get to witness Charice’s magic.

I wonder how may CD’s Santa Chaster bought, LOL.

Kidding aside, I salute you, Santa Chaster.

“The Joy of Giving, because it is, the Chaster Way.” >> this hit me hard…

I have been a recipient of a free concert tix of charice when i was still a student and my money was not sufficient to buy one that time. I am not used to receive things from people whom I don’t personally know. I was overwhelmed coz I never thought that there are still LOTS of people who enjoy sharing what they have to the less without expecting anything in return. I’ve met a lot of them here in CM. People who are generous enough to extend their hands not just to chasters during cha’s concerts and other appearances, but even in regular times whenever anyone needs help (even if it’s not related to charice). Chasters who are PHILANTHROPIST in real life. Oh I wish I could tell their names and the things they have done but i know they prefer to be out of the limelight and remain unknown while helping others. They have been among my inspirations.

One day, when i can already afford to sponsor tickets or anything for my fellow chasters, I would definitely share what i got for as long as i can. Not just because i want to “pay it forward”. I would do it because it is, the Chaster Way! :)

But I really hope that I could get one of Chaster Clause’s calls inviting me to one of Charice’s events. It’ll be an honor and it’ll be a big privilege seeing my long time idol singing in person. I’m keeping my fingers crossed about this :)

U guys are blessed, indeed! We can only dream of this and will never be able to see and experience CHARICE in a live concert. It’ll probably take me a lifetime to afford a plane ticket and her concert pass just to see her perform LIVE!!! But I’m glad you guys are so talented and resourceful enough to be able to share those videos and put those experiences you’ve had with Charice in writing. I can live with those videos of her performances posted on YT and the well-written articles here on CM. After all, CM is the one-stop source for all things Charice! Chasters rock! I’m speechless after reading and knowing this matter for the first time about Chaster Clause in the spirit of anonymity and generosity towards fellow chasters.

This also reminds me of someone giving away free tickets in CM chatroom before and she is just contented to sow happiness among us in her own small way (but BIG thank you too from us.)

Charice herself radiates humility and goodwill. This transcends to the hearts of the Chaster community as well and serves an inspiration to all of us.

To all those in Japan, thank you. We are looking forward to the sharing of the experiences through articles and videos, like what LAfan, Mooffin, JustCharrie and others have already done.

Put just one Chaster into a venue of a Charice event and we all are assured of having our own experiences because of the unselfishness of a Chaster’s heart. But then, Chaster Clause sent more than one. How cool is that?
