Time Not on Our Side, Charice Missed Out on People’s Choice Award Nomination

We are very sorry to have to say it but unfortunately the Charice Internet Army simply ran out of time in its campaign to secure Charice an official nomination for the 2011 People’s Choice Awards.

The article instructing all Chasters to vote for Charice was posted on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, but the voting ended on Friday, October 30, 2010. Please do not forget how you have come through for Charice in the past by helping earn her the honors of J-14 Magazine’s Icon of Tomorrow and Best Oprah Show Musical Performance for her performance of ‘Note to God’. So keep your heads held high fellow Chasters! We did not lose – we simply ran out of time!

We attempted to have Charice nominated in several categories including Favorite Breakout Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Web Celeb, Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Song (Pyramid) and Favorite TV Comedy (for Glee, on which she plays Sunshine Corazon). Please visit the following link for a complete list of official nominees in every category.

All is not lost Chasters. At least Charice has a chance at indirectly winning a People’s Choice Award in 2011 with her role on Glee. Vote for Glee here (you can also cast official votes on Facebook and Twitter). Voting ends on December 7, 2010 in all categories with the exception of Favorite New TV Drama and Favorite New TV Comedy (vote for Glee, vote for Glee, vote for Glee). Voting in those categories will continue through to the night of the awards ceremony which is January 5, 2011.

The fact that Charice has a fan base dedicated enough to work so hard to earn her a nomination amongst the great performers who ended up being nominated in the above categories says a lot about Charice’s talent, personality, popularity, and future career. Charice is here to stay and we will be seeing and hearing lots of her!

Charice, please sing your own songs. I love listening to your songs Fingerprint, Breathe You Out, Nothing and In love So Deep. I hope you will perform them live.

The people on the list above have already quite a cult following…It’s hard to beat them this time. Maybe after couple of big hits – single or album or after gaining more followers.

Ha, ha. Charice at 18 proves that time is on her side. It’s our impatience that’s getting us (myself included) antsy. Just a little while longer till all roads lead to Grammy.

We should have focused on just one category, Breakout Artist. Put all the time and resources into just one category.

I think Charice should focus in singing and promoting her original songs. Her cover songs are great and we all know that, but she should be known more on her own songs. with the exception of the TV show Glee, I think people would like to see her singing her own songs. In the U.S. (unlike in P.I.), I do not see a lot of cover songs from original artists….they usually sing their own songs once they got a record label and made an album. However, other than Glee, it’s fun to see her do cover songs from time to time, as novelty acts …why? because she can be equal or do better than the original. I believe focusing in her original songs will help her deep into the mainstream. Don’t you think so?

I agree. Her album has many songs with a potential to make it as a single but don’t know why she(or her team lets her)sings covers instead. No matter how great she is at covers many people will just say she is imitating and it makes me sad coz I know Charice is better than that. Please, team Charice, let her sing her own songs more…not just Pyramid…
