Charice Solo Concert in Japan, February 22-23

Charice Solo Concert in Japan, February 22-23

Looks like the Japanese can’t get enough of Charice! During the Japan leg of the David Foster and Friends Asia Tour, it was announced that Charice is coming back on February 22, 2011 for her solo Japan tour. It seems that Japan is now Charice’s third home (next to the U.S. and the Philippines). She’s just been to Japan about three months ago for her album promotional tour; and after less than four months, she’ll be back there again.

This is certainly an excellent boost for Charice’s career. As stated in the article, “Charice Tops Japan Music Charts”, Japan has the second largest market for pop music, and Charice having a share of that definitely spells success. And an easy feat it was not! Japan is known to have citizens that patronize their homegrown talents, and foreign acts have a very difficult time penetrating the music charts. But Charice didn’t let those things get to her, and just soldiered on ‘til the top.

charice gold record japan Charice Solo Concert in Japan, February 22 23And reach the top, she did. Her “Charice” album is certified gold in Japan, after only two months from being released there in July. And while she was in Japan during the David Foster and Friends Japan tour, a gorgeous glass plaque was awarded to her in recognition for the strong sales of her album.

Also, numerous appearances in television shows, like FOX Japan’s “Backstage Pass” and “Kiseki Taiken Unbelievable” (where Japanese actors re-enacted her life), certainly helped in generating buzz throughout Japan. One real-life example of her growing fan-base in Japan is Moofin’s experience, from the article “Why Charice is Number 1”:

Saturday Afternoon

“So I turn the radio up

Looking for a melody

But nobody’s singing to me”

My head does a 180. What the?! I was in a bus in the suburbs of Tokyo, and a familiar tune wafts past my ear.  Who on earth has “Nobody Singing to Me”, not even “Pyramid”, as a ringtone in Japan?!  A man in his 50s wearing a suit passes me by, his phone ringing.  What a fiftyish, stern-looking Japanese man in a suit on a Saturday afternoon is doing listening to an 18 year old, bubbly Filipino girl wearing the latest, coolest clothes is beyond me.  What’s his Charice story?  Mind-boggling, and mind-blowing.

Another testament to Charice’s fame and acclaim in Japan is, of course, the recently announced solo Japan tour of Charice. Demand for tickets must be strong as Kyodo Tokyo is already holding a special advance sale of tickets. If you want to buy tickets, click here. The tour is scheduled for Tokyo on February 22-23, 2011. The venue is Zepp Tokyo. For more details, visit the official Charice page of Kyodo Tokyo.

Nagoya and Osaka Announced:

Two more additional dates have been officially confirmed by Marc Johnston (Charice’s manager). Tickets for this concert are bound to be in high demand due to Charice’s surging popularity in Japan. So if you haven’t reserved your tickets yet, now is the best time to do it. Good things come to those who don’t wait :)

Congratulations on your Asian tour Sunshine! It has been a year since my wife and I saw Charice at a DFF concert in Atlanta. Is there any chance that she will start on a US tour in 2011? I know there’s a lot on her plate right now and she is just going to get busier as she gets more popular to the younger crowd. It still might take another year until she gets more TV exposure in Glee. It is just so amazing that this young teenager’s fans are between the ages of 20 something and older (past 50′s). You just can’t deny God given talent! Thank you Lord for giving us this girl. I have no words to express my gratitude and happiness everytime I hear her sing! Yes, I am a Chaster and a fan forever. God bless you and your family.

i remember watching the life story of charice where zsa zsa padilla played the role of her mother raquel. cha’s grandma was taunting the raquel character for life failures. the grandma character said to raquel — look at your sibling he is going to japan, while you (raquel) you are hardly making any progress in life. and the little charice character looked on sadly…

japan?? not only their dream to see japan was fulfilled, charice even reigned there as asia’s pop princess. cha strived hard to fulfill her mother’s dream, and she had been fittingly rewarded. AT THE TOP BABY~!

Very well thought, very well said, and very well done Lola Elrem. God truly lifts up the humble and meek. The trials have refined Charice to remarkable person, just as a gold is tested by fire.

One thing I learn about the life of Charice is “Never Give Up On Your Dreams.” Even though the odds were great she keeps on hoping for her dream and believing in God. Her life is a story of triumph.

@hermingjesty, As of 20 October 2010, there are 110,000 chasters in Japan as a minimum, 100,000 who bought Charice CD (Gold Record) and 10,000 who attended DFF concert. Now count their family and friends, I would say 500,000 chasters.

Good news Japan Chasters. I wonder how many Japan nationals became Chasters. This could very well extend to other Asian countries like Philippines, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore etc. How about Central America?. I hope she tours other countries too, but there should be a space beween them to relax her and her voice. Congratulations Charice.
