Perhaps I am Charice’s biggest expat fan in Bangkok, Thailand. And perhaps her most discreet fan out there.
By ‘discreet’ I mean I don’t brandish nor go hysterical over how I am smitten with Charice’s talent especially her very good character. I adore her and I am very happy of her continuous successes but unlike the typical fan I have never been loud about it. I don’t feel the need to because the thought of her unprecedented achievements is enough to give me utmost joy and satisfaction. Somehow, it feels like her success is also mine. Charice has become a part of my day to day existence. I can say that I am always abreast with her whereabouts especially her new projects and videos. Just like a cup of coffee, any news about Charice perks me up and helps me start my day.
A ‘discreet’ fan I am, I spread about Charice in the most neutral way. I want true Charice proselytes. Those spontaneously influenced by Charice’s undeniable talent and positive personality. I normally share monumental news and videos about Charice in my facebook. There was one feature article in particular entitled “The Charice Challenge” published on Philippine Daily Inquirer. The article struck me as the author was able to create a totally relevant discourse regarding the persistent Filipino colonial mentality using Charice’s phenomenal success as the main catalyst. Being a Filipino myself, I thought the article was very honest and true. It also made me realize how powerful Charice’s impact to reevaluating the Filipino sense of nationalism.
To conclude, I am Charice’s biggest fan because first and foremost I love and appreciate her many talents. Her voice in particular is mellifluous yet unbelievably powerful. But, above all, I am her biggest fan because I value her good examples and influence towards me and her other fans.

I am very inspired and touched by her life story. Her relationship with her mother is like a relationship between best friends. Her mother is her real inspiration and the reason why Charice became a singer. Her mother inspired her and you can tell whenever Charice talks about her, she really appreciates her and everything she has done for her. As a child Charice joined singing contests just to help her mother because she loves her with all her heart.
I know everyone says they are Charice’s biggest fan, but I believe I am her biggest fan because I appreciate her talent even at the age of only 17. I am constantly looking for more youtube videos of Charice and always checking the Charice news for updates. I have not seen Charice live and it would be a dream come true for me to experience her unbelievable gift from God. I supported Charice in everything she has done so far and I will continue to support her in everything she will do in the future.

From the moment I saw her on YouTube nearly three years ago (pre-Ellen), I knew that Charice was destined for stardom. Without knowing it, I had become “chaddicted.” Since then, not a day has gone by that I haven’t searched for news about this incredibly talented young lady. I admire so much about Charice but I am most impressed by her unpretentiousness and her child-like spirit. She is also kind, optimistic, tenacious, and polite. Finally, Charice is humble, crediting her success first to God and second to her best friend, her mother.
There are many reasons why I consider myself to be among Charice’s biggest fans. First, I have seen Charice perform three times: at the David Foster & Friends shows in Las Vegas (I flew 400 miles to hear her sing four songs) and San Jose (I sat in the second row), and at a mall appearance in South San Francisco, promoting her CD (I took photos from the edge of the stage). Second, I attended Charice’s 17th birthday celebration in Las Vegas, the day after her performance. (Unfortunately, she spoke mostly in Tagalog; suffice it to say that Charice speaks English a lot better than I speak Tagalog.) Third, I met Charice after her San Jose show and got a photo of us, which she later signed at her mall appearance — one of my most prized possessions! (I have her signature on two more photos and a poster of her.) Fourth, my hobby is downloading the best copies of Charice’s performances, editing them, and, if necessary, merging the best video from one copy with the best audio from another. Finally, I actively promote Charice by posting these videos (I have over 100) on YouTube – so much so that I even got an account frozen (!).
I can truly say that, whenever I am feeling sad or down, all I need to do is listen to Charice sing or watch one of her videos and my mood immediately brightens. She’s better than psychotherapy and a lot cheaper. I feel blessed to have had our lives touch, if only briefly, on more than one occasion.

The only thing we are so sad, she is not a regular on Glee, we would love to see more of her, if possible every episode.
Despite her successes, Charice has remained humble and have not forgotten her roots.

I have selected “You Raise Me Up”. No, not the Josh Groban recording, but Charice’s rendition from her “My Inspiration” album.
The DJ does not have this version, so I have ordered a new CD from Amazon, so hopefully it will arrive today in plenty of time for the wedding. You know I couldn’t have this day go by without Charice being part of it. What kind of Chaster would I be without including her? Now I have to learn how to dance (worse than David Hasselhoff and Micael Bolton).

Weddings over. Everything was almost perfect.
I thought all my tears had been used on Charice. Boy was I wrong.
They played “You Raise Me Up” as planned for the father daughter dance and I was great – holding up and smiling – until she turned to me and whispered “You’ve been an amazing father”. That was it – the flood gates opened up and I was mush for about a minute, until I could compose myself. My daughter said I took down a bunch of women with me, as they lost it, also. So the emotion of the moment and the amazing rendition of the song took me down.
The only downside is that the dj announced the song but not the singer so I didn’t hear Charice’ name, which would have completed a perfect day.

I recommend the article to everyone. It says a lot about her struggles. I’ve waited long for this kind of article to be written about her because the people around her when she was just starting hadn’t treated her fairly and it should be acknowledged. I wish it also mentioned about a popstar who stole her line on a show because it was terribly rude, but it doesn’t matter now.
anyways, grab the tissue box and read it.
