Chaster JimFan’s Experience
It was apparent right from the start this was a “Big Time Rush” crowd. Although, I never heard of them, not watching Nickelodeon, they were friendly to their fans who almost broke my eardrums screaming. Charice and Josh Golden received polite applause but were not the featured performers today. I did scream whenever I could for Charice and I had a good spot about 10 feet from the runway.Charice was absolutely “spot on” with her vocals. I was able to see a handful of Chasters before and after the concert. We were definitely outnumbered but bottom line is I witnessed the greatest “live” singer in the world, again. With her appearances on Glee, I expect her to amass a greater number of younger fans and her time will come. Victoria Justice, the hostess was almost speechless when Charice finished.
One thing that happened is I was interviewed by a media gentleman from ABS CBN. He was shooting with a small hd camera and had a microphone looking for Charice fans. I had a handwritten name tag that said “jimfan is a Chaster”. I showed him that and a picture of Charice and myself and he was eager to ask questions about Charice. So the interview lasted about 5 minutes and I impressed myself as I was able to get through without stammering and just told him I have been following Charice for 2 and a half years since Star King. He would bring up facts and I would interrupt and answer his questions before he finished asking. Don’t know where it will lead to but if anyone sees it on ABS CBN please let me know.
I left right after her performance to go behind the stage but Charice had left by then. I went to Macy’s, saw a few Chasters (Nelson and Ann) but I believe Charice was in a private area where you had to purchase $150 worth of kids clothes in order to see her. My kids are 34 and 28 so that wasn’t happening. So that ended my day with more fond memories of my favorite entertainer.

Chaster Rodbelt’ s Experience
I just returned from the Macy event and would like to be among the first ones to share with you my latest experience with our princess.
I got up at 9:00AM having returned from AC at 3:00AM and was mad at myself that my plans to be in NY bright and early to be in front of the stage was now out of the window. I took a quick shower, dressed up, grabbed my camera, a frozen bottle water and my two pictures with Charice to show off, jumped into my car, and I was on my way to the Big Apple. While munching on a McMuffin sandwich along the NJ Turnpike, I was thinking of a strategy how to navigate the traffic and find free parking in the city. For the uninitiated, driving in NYC is always an unpredictable adventure even for a seasoned driver like me and a summer Sunday is no exception. After negotiating a few twists and turns in the bumper-to-bumper traffic along 34th and 5th Avenue, I was lucky enough to squeeze my car in a space between a van and a motorcycle along 31st. By the time I got to Macy’s, the crowd was already big that I thought it would be near impossible to find a good place to watch the show. I found a spot along the side of the stage and leaned back against the display window only to find out that it was the pedestrian lane where the New York’s finest and Macy securities were busy shooing the people to keep on walking. I was then able to position myself next to a display window facing the stairs to the stage just beyond the reach of the cops where I stood next to young man who I learned to be another Chaster named “Crazy4You”. We had a a nice conversation about our experiences with Charice and he was nice enough to give me pointers in where to be strategically located to take some good pictures as we waited.
The show started with Josh Golden as the opening act to a receptive crowd. It was followed by a fashion show with children modeling the latest in back-to-school outfit. And to my big surprise and probably to all the Chasters in attendance – the last model to strut the runway was no less than our Charice who was so beautiful in a bright pink jacket, white printed shirt and blue pants. I can’t help but think that she portrayed the typical, unspoiled high school teenager who is very befitting to be a cast member of Glee.
Charice was then introduced to be the next performer as the new popstar who broke to the American scene through Ellen and Oprah. Charice opened up with ‘Reset’ to an enthusiastic crowd. After her brief introduction that it was a David Foster composition that mirrors her life story, she delivered a true-to-her-heart, passionate performance of ‘In This Song’ that got me carried away. There I was, singing quietly in the background and crazily mimicking the motion of a conductor to every beat of the music unmindful of the cops who were still busy shooing the people away. She closed her part with Pyramid to a generally receptive audience many of whom may or may not realized that they just have watched the new phenomenon of American music.
I started to walk back to my car but decided to take the long way toward the far end of the stage, wishfully thinking that I may bump into Charice in her way back to the Macy building. Surprise of surprises! There she was, walking between 3 burly securities and 2 NY cops, walking in my direction! I called her name, ‘CHARIIIIIICE’. As she was passing by me, I extended my hand to shake hers which she graciously accepted! I was momentarily stunned for my luck then run to follow her until she hurriedly disappeared into the building guarded by 2 more burly securities.
While driving back to NJ, I kept on re-living another memorable experience with Charice that I will cherish for a long, long time. And for those who were not blessed to be there, I am sure some nice videos will be coming very soon. LantaoIsland, we’re waiting for you!

Chaster WicketX’s Experience
I was at the event as well. Got there around 10:30 am and by then there was already a good-sized group of people close to the stage. My wife and I planted ourselves behind that throng in the “section” since there was a space where they were setting up a camera, etc. was there when Charice did her sound check around 11am and even then, the crowd was cheering! I have the sound check on video so maybe I’ll post it on YT.
Unfortunately I did not have as good a sight line as I’m sure the other Chasters did! But I did my best. Anyway, a minute or two after her sound check I noticed a commotion to my left and suddenly I spotted Carl! I bolted as fast as I can and left my spot and lo and behold there was Charice with the bodyguards and her brother Carl! She was signing autographs and taking pics with people! I yelled her name, “Charice!” and she looked and said “Po?” (tagalog word like “yes” but used when talking to someone older than you) and I said in Tagalog, can I get a pic of me and you? She said sure and I hurriedly handed my camera to Carl. I forgot to switch the camera mode back to normal as I had it on REC from taking the sound check video, so of course Carl said so and I switched it back and FINALLY!, I had a picture of me and Charice! I thanked her and she went to the next person.
I then took Carl aside and asked him if he remembers me from us chatting online and from me handing him a DVD of The Thing (a horror movie) to give to his “ate” who loves horror movies, back in October 2009, after the DF&F show @ MSG. after a few moments, he said oh yes I remember, shook my hand and said see u later! I met up with my wife later (she was shopping all that time) and showed her my now prized possession- a pic of me and Charice!!! It was a great day all around, punctuated by that chance meeting! I will always remember it and go go go Charice! God Bless you and all the Chasters!

You must swear an alligence to Charice and take a Chaster oath. You must show your Charice cd collection with your original receipts (no copies, please). You must pledge to see her in person whenever she’s in your area. And you must bring in new Chasters by talking her up whenever there’s an opening. Finally, you must drink coffee.
I’m not saying it’s easy, but if you believe in Charice, anything is possible. You can do it!

but when they hear those powerful killer vocals, especially the sustained and perfectly-pitched high notes, those window signs in the background will speak for them, as they wonder who she is, and why they haven’t heard of her:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrLMMfn1JYk&feature=channel
when they hear covers of “In This Song” as it unfolds to be the anthem it is destined to be, they will know that they do not quite measure up to what they heard that day in the background, because she made it all sound too easy …
and when they find out that the name “Charmaine” originated from the word “Song”, they will have found the answer to that question on the window – that she IS the SONG, one that will continue to play in their hearts and minds for a long time …

As far as going to these events by myself – it begins that way, but then you meet Chasters along the way so I know I’m not alone. But when I start out by myself, I can move as many times as I want (to get a better spot) without having to worry about anyone else (getting tired) and holding me back.

But just the same…always remember that, Charicemania is the “house of Charice” maintained by the good people composed of Admin, GM, various moderators, editors, contributors, etc. and as fans, we are like guests in this site….. enjoying the facilities and amenities, expressing our views, opinions, plans and ideas, sharing news, photos & videos and many more pleasant (and unpleasant) stuff about Charice. Having said that, let us all remember to show our best behavior in the midst of the other guests (fans) much like if we are in other people’s homes and be mindful of the hospitality and generosity of our hosts who run this website. And if we can, let us deal with the issues without getting into personalities…after all, I would like to think that we are all fans of Charice.
As to the matter of this Macy’s incident, if at all it is any “incident”…I would not lose any sleep over it. All I can say is, “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going”….and that is our Charice.

I was reading the other comments here and though I absolutely admire the posters’ philosophical, historical, sociological, even scientific intelligence and their mastery of putting thought unto paper, sometimes I think that all of the metaphysical comments take away from the simple yet fundamental message of Charice’s story – that we must be allowed to thrive to reach our fullest potentials (human rights) and the only way to do that is to work together regardless of our differences. We recognize the realization of that in Charice’s story and gather around it like a magnet regardless of where we are in the world. So why must we argue back and forth over “problems” when Charice’s story obviously offers a “solution”?
Besides, I’m assuming her younger fans all over the world simply think that Charice’s music is cool and they love her for that. Shouldn’t we?

And I also walked down that area to get backstage and not one of my Jimster fans was screaming while Charice was singing. So I must say I have the classiest fans in the world.
And to Eve. I will try to make this my last “old” joke. I will let it be (if I can). Besides as I said I’m going young.
Love my charicemania family.

To clarify, I am NOT the Jim Lee from Marvel Comics. He may be great but if he doesn’t know about Charice then I consider myself to be the Great Jim Lee and I wouldn’t trade places with him for anything. Don’t think my level of happiness could be any greater since learning about Charice.
