We recently met and interviewed the wonderful singer, Charice, in Manhattan. She just released her self-titled debut album. It was very exciting to meet her!
Her full name is Charice Pempengco and she is from the Philippines. Charice was discovered a few years ago after her friend posted her “Filipino Idol” audition video on YouTube.com. She has appeared twice on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” during the past two years. After those appearances, Charice has met and worked with some very famous musicians, including Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and her producer, David Foster.
Charice was very friendly and she had many great answers for all of our questions.
She told us that she had recently bought a house and a car for her mom. When we asked her about her performance in the recent movie, “Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel,” she also surprisingly gave us her wonderful imitation of the three chipmunks – she sounded just like them!
Before our time with Charice was over, she sang her new song, “Pyramid,” for us. Then Charice sang and played the guitar to the song, “Baby,” by Justin Bieber and she asked us to sing along with her. That was fantastic!
We loved meeting and interviewing Charice because she was very friendly and she has a great personality. She is so talented. Her new CD is fantastic! You should listen to it and you will love it, too.
