NEW YORK – The teen wunderkind from the Philippines has been wowing audiences with her big voice and Celine Dion covers on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and other shows for the last two years. This month, she appeared on Winfrey’s show for the fourth time.

But now, as she releases her self-titled debut album, Charice finds herself with a challenge as she tries to translate her success with an adult audience to her peers.

“I’ve been singing big songs, and this is the actually the first time they are going to hear me sing Justin Bieber-type of songs, Miley Cyrus-type of songs,” the 18-year-old said recently in heavily accented English. “I’m just excited for all the teenagers to hear my album.”

Hi it`s me again, Emma. I just want to reply to oslo 1000 that your right about that song Charice sung in that show. There`s a couple of people in that show who were really appreaciating Charice vocal prowess when she did this song namely Lani M. and Arnel P. Only artist who are secure with their own talent will openly show appreaciation to another fellow artist. One good example was Lea S. and Charice singing a duet of Michael J., you can see how secured Lea with Charice. Unlike other times that Charice sings with other artist of the said show. This is the same show that didn`t put up a half a decent debut celebration for her, that`s why I wander how come they Charice and her mom tolerate this kind of treatment from her so-called home network. If you don`t know what I`m talking about, watch her performanced in Italian show, that British show and when Charice did her Note to God on Oprah. Charice sung the same song in her home channel but they didn`t care to put up a good presentation compare to the foreigners whom simlpy were amazed by her talent. Charice just like what I said before when you make it in U.S.A like Celine D.,Micheal B. and etc. the rest will follow.. Thanks ! ! !

Charice has really come a long way since her first appearance in the US tubes and interviews but she has never shed or outgrown that unmistakable humility. The fame and glory of her accomplishments have not polluted her mind and values, something very rare amongst the stars of today. Her mother Raquel has really done a good job in guiding her and teaching her the right stuff especially those that have to do with her character and values. Her dedication to her work and her ability to remember, acknowledge and thank those who have helped her is another scarce ability in the industry. This, I believe has been her quality that makes her star shine brightest amongst the stars in the world.

    Thanks for the post Eve.
