Pop Princess Charice will make her fourth appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on May 11 to launch her first international album.
Big things are being cooked up for the soon-to-be debutante: A Charice page will be launched on the show’s official site, Oprah.com on April 12, the same day that the official music video for her song “Pyramid,” will have its world premiere. The international Queen of All Media is also encouraging Chasters (Charice’s fans) to pour out their love for the petite power belter on the site as well.
Charice first performed on Oprah back in May 2008 as part of the “World’s Smartest Kids.” She received a standing ovation for her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.” She then had two more appearances in September of the same year, and then May 18 of last year when she launched her first international single, “Note To God.”
Last March 24, the album cover for “Charice: A Star Is Born” was unveiled on her official website. Her first single off it, “Pyramid,” featuring “Replay” man Iyaz, is also doing well on the Billboard Dance/Club Chart, jumping from number 15 and entering the top ten at number nine (based from Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart’s 4/17 issue). The pop-R&B ditty is slowly penetrating European shores as well, debuting at the top spot at FunX’s XTips Chart of The Netherlands.
The international singing sensation received accolade for her album showcase at the SoHo’s Canal Room in New York City last April 5, garnering a standing ovation and new fans from the media, such as from Us Weekly magazine, Z100NY, and Billboard.
Amid all her successes, Charice has not forgotten to pay it forward. On her 18th birthday on May 10, the singer is sponsoring a “soup kitchen” feeding program for kids. More, Charice will bond with children from the charitable institutions that she supports, namely World Vision, Bantay Bata, and an orphanage from Laguna (her home province).
