Charice sets post-birthday celebration on Oprah

Charice sets post-birthday celebration on Oprah

Pop Princess Charice will make her fourth appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on May 11 to launch her first international album.

Big things are being cooked up for the soon-to-be debutante: A Charice page will be launched on the show’s official site, Oprah.com on April 12, the same day that the official music video for her song “Pyramid,” will have its world premiere. The international Queen of All Media is also encouraging Chasters (Charice’s fans) to pour out their love for the petite power belter on the site as well.
Charice first performed on Oprah back in May 2008 as part of the “World’s Smartest Kids.” She received a standing ovation for her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.” She then had two more appearances in September of the same year, and then May 18 of last year when she launched her first international single, “Note To God.”

Last March 24, the album cover for “Charice: A Star Is Born” was unveiled on her official website. Her first single off it, “Pyramid,” featuring “Replay” man Iyaz, is also doing well on the Billboard Dance/Club Chart, jumping from number 15 and entering the top ten at number nine (based from Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart’s 4/17 issue). The pop-R&B ditty is slowly penetrating European shores as well, debuting at the top spot at FunX’s XTips Chart of The Netherlands.

The international singing sensation received accolade for her album showcase at the SoHo’s Canal Room in New York City last April 5, garnering a standing ovation and new fans from the media, such as from Us Weekly magazine, Z100NY, and Billboard.

Amid all her successes, Charice has not forgotten to pay it forward. On her 18th birthday on May 10, the singer is sponsoring a “soup kitchen” feeding program for kids. More, Charice will bond with children from the charitable institutions that she supports, namely World Vision, Bantay Bata, and an orphanage from Laguna (her home province).

Manila Bulletin is read mostly by the intellectuals and professionals so it is very good of them to publish articles about Charice in the paper but i think their taste in music might be of a different genre so i hope charice’s next album have a blend of ballad/country(bluegrass/jazz and something foreign like Adagio

Im no nostradamus but I can see that this “petite girl with a big voice” is going to make it BIG TIME. With that kind of pure and raw talent, she’ll surely rock hollywood and the rest of the world. And as for us who have seen her metamorphose to a lady as she is today, the best thing is, perhaps, to support and rally behind her. She may not be able to say TY to each and everyone of us but we should make her realize that she is one very talented lady. To keep her in obscurity would be a dishonor to humanity.

I wonder if the May 11 launching of Charice’s album on Oprah will be pre-recorded or taped. That’s going to be pretty hectic and tight for a schedule to have to fly the same day out of the Philippines from her “bonding” with the kids at the orphanage “soup concert” and get ready to appear on Oprah’s show the next day. Considering also that a flight from the Philippines to the US, although you seem to gain a day (or some 16 hours)in terms of arriving in the states that very same day, you actually lost it due to the “midway” time zone. Charice would have lost that valuable rest time. Interesting thought. I hope her health doesn’t suffer. Take care Charice and may the Lord bless and take care of you too.

      Hello jessica86s,
As far as I know, Oprah does not air live anymore. All of her shows are taped. Take care and have fun!

jessica86s, hello, with all due respect, most of the show like Oprah’s are taped nowadays, if you remember Charice guesting last time when she met Celine on the big screen ?, that was taped.
The magic of live broadcasting (kuno). Jay Leno, Letterman, Degenerres and american idol are taped earlier before you even watch it in your area (west coast), Peace.

Every Fridays, Oprah’s show is live in Chicago. Too bad Charices’ appearance falls on Tuesday and most likely will be taped or delayed.
