good vidz of charice & josh. their voices compliments each other. Fantastic performance. Another s.o.! sBy the way I have a suggestion for the computer savvy CM team. Maybe you could create a vidz of all the ending of the song IWLY of the Bodyguard medly in some of the 10 city DFF tour. I noticed she made the ending varies in some of the places of concert. Just a suggestion. I wish I can do it but I don’t have that expertise.
    Happy Holidays to all!

The “Voice” is the hardest musical instrument to take care of. Unlike other musical instruments, you can just change the strings or use different musical gadgets to make the instrument sound good. The quality of the voice changes depending on the physical and emotional stress the singer is going through. I believe this event was in NY…if that’s the case, she’s been weaving all 4 time zones in the US/Canada and of course, she would be tired. She’s not a robot. No matter how she tries her best to take care of her voice, her body cannot deny it…if she’s tired, she’s tired.

I heard the part where she missed a note, but I didn’t mind it at all. She still sounded very good, and in my opinion, I liked her rendition better in this duet. Listen to Mariah Carey now. I used to be a big fan of hers. Her voice now never sounds the same as it used to be. That’s why, not all singers sound “the same” all the time. Charice’s voice will mature as years pass, and it’s great that she started young because her voice will even sound better. Her voice right now is PHENOMENAL…how much more 3-5 years from now when she’s a full grown adult? I just hate it when some people are just sitting and waiting for someone to “fall”…it’s so upsetting. After watching all 10 of her DF tour videos, she sounded very, very good and did a very good job maintaining her voice despite the fact that they’re on the road practically the whole time.

That was a very good duet. We have to agree that they had a rehearsal before going on stage and i believe that that was how DF arranged the song. I also believe that Charice did her best to make sure that she does not outsing her partner otherwise it does not look good on her part anyways. She is labelled the smartest kid in Oprah so we should not worry about it. She knows what she can do and cannot do. Let’s just sit back, watch and relax…everything is cared for by David Foster and his crew.

What a teaser when DF said that, “we’re gonna have a little fun now” I think, just to make us wait in anticipation just as he did in the second “Hitman” concert at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas last May 2009. I agree with Manang Babes also in her observation of Charice starting off “slightly mellow” and this just made me notice that the volumes of their microphones were at a very low setting. Probably to showcase the power of their voices as expected from opera singers.

True to form, Charice picked up and didn’t disappoint the audience. This is probably the first time this audience has seen Charice perform. I just wish there were more clips of the rest of the presentation so we know how it turned out. I suppose aside from serving as a promotional activity for Charice, to get her known to a broader audience, these “charity events” is a perfect way of letting Charice earn a living while she waits for the launching of her album.

I think this is a very kind, thoughtful and considerate gesture of David Foster to include Charice in these activities and shows how he takes care of his prodigies. It may not be much (as much as she would be earning when she hits the peak of her stardom) but I’m sure what she earns in these “charity events” is more than ten fold of what Charice would be earning in the Philippines enslaving herself to the whims of those at ASAP and what have you at ABS-CBN. I hope Charice considers this aspect too in making decisions in her career.

I’m also very curious as to what Ms.Oprah Winfrey has up her sleeve, now that she’s got Jan 2011 marked as “Good Bye Day” to The Oprah Winfrey Show? I hope that Charice’s relationship with Oprah has not changed as in deteriorated, but has grown. And with the help of Lisa who has been keeping a very watchful eye on Charice ever since, I hope this is the case. This slack time until the launching of Charice’s Album could use some help and advise from Ms.O.

Just a thought – I believe the “chasters” should grow outside the Filipino community, very quickly and exponentially to be able to ensure the right sales numbers that would place Charice on the top with this coming album of hers. I think this is what DF is looking for and the very reason why the release is being delayed. For the kind of figures expected in this “major league” of the recording, music and entertainment industry, Charice will need more than ten times the existing chaster population. Isn’t it scary to think about when you think in those terms? I guess that’s Marc Johnston’s problem. Sleep well Marc. I’m praying for you. LOL.

      My my Jessica,
Don’t you know how to subtly convince your patients how to drink their medicine and take that bitter pill or that painful and dreaded “injection”? I believe you touched something sensitive here, like a reality the chasters shall have to face sooner or later in this journey of Charice. Just a little piece of loving advice dear sister. (Notice you’re getting thumbs down already, meaning you are either misunderstood or some people actually don’t like what you are saying.) Maybe it’s the way you are saying it. Be less blunt maybe?

Did it ever occur to anyone that Charice may have gotten tired too? All that work and emotional stress after the concert, and pressure and worrying about how her album’s gonna fair out, what else has to be done and how she’s gonna do it, etc. Then the expectations of the fans, which cuts her very little slack. She’s just a teenager who should be worrying about sem.exams, who she’s gonna invite at the sadiehawkins dance or something, or what she’s gonna wear to the prom. Simple things like that should be her worries. C’mon guys, cut her some more slack. She deserves it, though admittedly, it would be better kept away from the public eye.

I think the arrangement was done to suit both the singers style. remember that this is a duet and not meant to outdo the other singer. from what I see, Josh has a lil bit less power and it wouldn’t sound good if he struggled or if Charice tried to outsung him. although I believe it would be much different if she was having a duet with Andrea.

We tend to forget that in her US/Canada live performances there is a Conductor/Director present. David Foster has overall control over the musical arrangement and live performance. In this case it was showcasing the Namedrop winner Josh Page.

Charice can sing operatic with Andrea Bocelli or popstyle with Christian Bautista. She is so versatile that she can make anyone she sings with sound good. Her job was to bring out the best from Josh Page. As Adrea Bocelli said, “mission accomplished”.

      @Magandalalaki

That was NOT a mediocre performance. That was a very refined exceptional performance complementing Josh Page’s voice.

Didn’t it occur to you that maybe David Foster asked her to ‘tone’ it down so people can focus more on Josh???

I think Charice found a partner in singing . Their voices are right for each other. That guy sounded like the boy from Italy. Another Boccelli. That was the best duet I heard from Charice. Good luck and more power to them.

Great duet. Charice started in a slightly “mellow” manner but the punch was when they were singing together. Josh has a very powerful tenor voice but Charice held her own. Her voice didn’t get lost in all the power that Josh delivered. Awesome, great.
Yes, David said at the end,” we want to have fun now,” and Charice was still on the stage. Maybe she sang I Will Survive.
This video was posted by Josh Page himself if I am not mistaken. I doubt that there will be more videos of Charice’s performance of this event unless it would come from Charice side herself.

I think Charice’ is starting to sing songs in a more toned down manner, but I find that it is a lot smoother, I do like it with a little more power though. But it’s great. I just listened to her LISTEN BIG-E performance and that was unbelievable. I hope they have songs for her similar to Listen, which lets her display her ability and full potential. Even Domino shows her awesome range. Though I think it’s a poorly written song. I am confident that she’s got great song writers and a great producer and her future is in good hands. So it dont doubt that she’ll succeed.

Another amazing performance from the “IT” girl herself. She will definitely be known by early February/March. This is one breakout artist that you can’t ignore. It’s great to see Charice at these charity events because I know this is worthwhile for her. Not only she is giving back, she’s also getting a lot of exposure. At this particular event, she sounded great, looked great, and stayed in her professional demeanor. Like I’ve always said, I have NO DOUBT that Charice will make it to the top. She’s got the heart, the voice, and as you can tell by her promotional WB pictures & this video (and past videos) she’s got the looks. Once she comes back from her 2 week trip to the Philippines, she will be moving full speed to stardom.

December: 3 singles already out & an appearance in a Hollywood movie.

January: another anticipated hit single entitled “Pyramid” featuring veteran reggae fusion hitman Sean Kingston.

February/March: the highly anticipated debut album of the one & only, CHARICE. Not Charice Pempengco, but C-H-A-R-I-C-E.

Nothing’s gonna stop her now. Keep it up kid. We’re all proud of you.

I think Charice performed three songs of this event before and after the duet of ‘The Prayer” because when Josh come up to the stage Charice was there already waiting and after the duet Josh tap Charice to give sign that he will go ahead and Charice remained there on the stage. I hope more vids of Charice of this event.

Wow, Charice’s delivery is much improved in the sense that she is not bending over to belt it out. Her outward gestures and projection, she’s such a pro.

Josh Page looks like Charice’s duet partner form Tia Lascio Canzones in Italy. He’s really quite good.

Anyone noticed their height? Just saying, lol …..

Thank you for uploading this video to whoever deserves credit (couldn’t find your name, here). Charice and Josh did an outstanding job and all for a great cause, JDRF. Charice continues to give back, so I expect blessings and good fortune to continue coming back to her.

Hope she gets to appear on a major telecast that reaches millions and millions of viewers (Major music award shows, prime time guest shots like Dancing With the Stars, Amierican Idol, Britains Got Talent, etc..). It’s time for the world to see her – to take the game to the next level.

Sheer joy to hear Charice sing this song again. Of all the singers I have heard sing “The Prayer”, she still absolutely nails it every time she sings it no matter who accompanies her, and the young man did a great job with it.

Since I have Diabetes Type 2 myself, I can relate very well to this charity. One out of seven AAmericans over 50 will contract this disease and many will not know it. For your eyes, kidneys, and Heart’s sake, be tested annually. It is a painless and simple test.
