CHARICE is one busy gal this weekend in Florida with a concert Tonite! in Tampa, and Sunday night at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Fla. And sandwiched in-between on Saturday night is David Foster’s 60th birthday bash! In the meantime, I thought you might enjoy this behind the scenes video of David Foster at work recording strings for Whitney Houston’s new song, ‘I Didn’t Know My Own Strength’
David Foster at Oceanway Studios
“Performers get that instant gratification live when they sing songs that we worked on. ” Foster says. “My job is to make the artists look good, not myself,” he says. “And I like being in the studio. I’ve been there for 35 years.”
Foster found his greatest success behind the scenes as a studio musician and eventually as a producer in the 1980s, turning Chicago into an adult-contemporary hit-making machine, and reaching No. 1 with singer John Parr on the 1985 song “St. Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion).” From there, he became as in-demand as a producer as he was a session keyboardist, working with Whitney Houston, Paul McCartney, Madonna, Michael Jackson and many more.
He insists all a producer really needs is “a great love of music.” Foster is classically trained and can write orchestral arrangements.
“The producer is responsible for the final product,” Foster says. “If the artist is weak, you do it all. You create the arc of the album. “If the artist is strong, you’re there to nudge,” he continues.

Whitney…and it is really sad to say cannot sing…….like she used to be able to. THAT is quite evident, so a duet with her and Charice would be interesting to say the least. I am not sure what that would be like. As far as Mariah goes…people are calling her “Whisperiah” and with good reason….have you heard her “sing” lately?
She cannot do it anymore. Trust me…..within 2 yrs they will both be a memory, I don’t care how famous or how rich they are.
Charice….is the future and not only that but this young WOMAN has ( I know she is only 17 but her actions and demeanor say WOMAN)…..one of the BEST female singing voices EVER. PERIOD.
I think maybe the only other one that compares is Karen Carpenter.
Charice has the voice of an angel..I am not RELIGIOUS AT ALL….but I think her voice IS a true gift from GOD. Think about THAT.

And to think that a whole lot of singers today use audioedit while this very sweet cute little something called Charice goes acapella anytime even when there is no sound system of any kind is truly truly refreshing and delightful. Charice is truly among the world’s elite group of singers as Michael Buble, Celine Dion, Lara Fabian, Andrea Bocelli, and a few more. No question she is the future of US and international music. If you doubt, just listen to her sing “Adagio” as a guest of “Io Canto” in Milan, Italy. I sincerely pray nothing untoward happens to her as she travels so intensely and pursues that dream. God bless her. We love you Charice!!!

Talent is God given.
Hard work, intensity and drive is man made.
Combine these two plus the wonder of modern technology, and you create an awesome and unforgettable masterpiece that can ‘foster’ an outpouring of unbelievable love and emotion that can move mountains.
Charice is indeed in God and in good hands.
Now, it is just a matter of time. Destiny awaits ‘the next one’.
I can recall Charice’s response at the second appearance in StarKing (Korea) when she was asked by the emcee how does she feel as the only performer in the previous StarKing show who was overwhelmingly requested by the audience to be invited again and she said, with both hands clasped together swinging from side to side, “I am happy.”
Indeed! And we are all happy, too, I am sure.

While her comeback seems a little weak we can only pray Whitney finds her voice again. She and Charice still have a duet to do.

Maybe she should not stop believing in herself, that she can do it, and in time we can hear her triumph over her adversities. Arnel Pineda, the current lead vocalist of Journey, at one time in his past was told by doctors that he had lost his voice to drugs, alcohols, etc. But look at him now. He still rocks.
and like hoz said, she still has to perform a duet with our Princess Charice.
