At the Big E concert, Charice mentioned her first movie debut in ”Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel,” will come out in theatres everywhere on Christmas Day, 2009. Charice will play herself in the movie as the rival singer to The Munks, representing her school in a singing competition along with other kids also representing their respective schools. Charice will sing Alicia Keys’ “No One” and is thrilled over her first Hollywood project, a dream come true for her. “It’s not a big role, but the fact that it’s a Hollywood movie is already a big deal for me,” Charice added. She had to audition for the role, read the script, and also speak like one of the chipmunks in the movie. She sang two songs during her audition, ‘Listen’ and ‘Irreplaceable,’ both by Beyoncé.

A brand new trailer of “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” has come out for our viewing pleasure. It offers fresh footage of the harmony singing brothers at school and a sneak peek at what happens to their caretaker David Seville. Beside teasing on what to expect from the sequel to the 2007′s “Alvin and the Chipmunks,” the trailer also presents a couple of songs sung by the Chipmunks as well as their female counterparts, the Chipettes. First to be heard is the Chipmunks singing Flo Rida’s single ”Right Round”, and near the end of the trailer, the Chipettes perform Beyonce Knowles’ “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)”.
“The Squeakquel” centers around Alvin, Simon and Theodore. This time, the pop sensations end up in the care of Dave Seville’s twenty-something nephew Toby and are forced to put aside music superstardom to return to school. They also get a new task on hand when they are asked to save the school’s music program by winning the $25,000 prize in a battle of the bands.
Little that they know, they are about to meet their match in Brittany, Eleanor and Jeanette, the three female singing chipmunks known as “The Chipettes”. Romantic and musical sparks are ignited when the Chipmunks and Chipettes square off.

mary joy @15, I don’t think there will be another trailer with Charice in it. Like she said at the Big E, it’s not really big exposure. It’s a small part like the other singers that also appear in the movie, Honor Society is one. This trailer is it. It’s pretty funny. I’ll be seeing it with my family!

i looked at the imbd info and it still shows her name on that star wars movie: the beginning (2001). Charice never hinted about being involved in this kind of movies, or is this one of her surprises? but the year date 2001 throws me off though. Does anyone have sinfo about this confusion?

1. On her first movie in Hollywood, “…so I auditioned and sang two songs, both by Beyonce and then, I was asked to read the script, one of the chipmunk roles. After, they told me they were gonna call me. I told them, before I leave, I want to show you my hidden talent. So i did the three voices of the Chipmunks. (Charice does her Chipmunks impressions)
“…I left for the Philippines after the audition. My manager then called my mom and told her, ‘she (Charice) got the role but they want her to play as herself, as Charice’…because…it’s like…the role itself isn’t that big. During my scene, the three chipmunks were there in a school competition and my role was as the chipmunks’ greatest competitor.”
“…I couldn’t believe it was my first movie, and in Hollywood, to boot. It made me ‘super-happy’ (taps her heart) when they told me after the shooting, “See you in Premier Night”.
