Famed musical showman, producer and songwriter David Foster will debut his new concert “HIT MAN: David Foster and Friends” at the Rosemont Theatre, 5400 N. River Road, Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. Foster, whose PBS “Great Performances” special, “HIT MAN: David Foster and Friends” was one of the most popular PBS pledge drive programs ever, will be joined on stage by an orchestra and special guests including Grammy Award-winner Philip Bailey from the chart-topping group “Earth, Wind and Fire;” Grammy and Academy Award nominee Peter Cetera; teenage Oprah Winfrey discovery Charise Pempengco; and “American Idol” Australian heartthrob contestant Michael Johns.
“Cher and Donny Osmond both surprised me by joining me on stage in Las Vegas. Things like that occur all the time when I am on tour, so I think there is a good chance we might have some surprise guest stars,” said Foster, who recently performed two sold-out shows at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. “I can certainly say each show will be very special and loads of fun. You never know what’s going to happen with this much talent on stage.”
Foster has won fifteen Grammy Awards (three for producer of the year) and has been nominated a total of 44 times. He has been nominated three times for an Academy Award for Best Song and won the 1999 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for the song “The Prayer” from the film Quest for Camelot sung by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion. He has been named BMI’s “Songwriter of the Year.”

I hope to see Charice again on PBS channel here in Chicago. Peter Cetera is the headline of the act? But there are suprises like what? Celine Dion? Josh Groban? Hm…Too bad I can’t afford a ticket.
