From Malaysia with Love

Here, i have to admit something. Seriously, I want to talk about this little international female singer which i knew all about her just this last week. First, i want to tell you on how i getting know about Charice Pempengco

Where to start? hmm….ok…last two weeks ago, i was at my younger sister ‘s house, Suzy…ok, then one day, she told me that she was amazed with this little female singer (Charice) she saw on Oprah shows. She told me like this, “Connie, have you heard about this 16 years old girl who could sing higher note?”. and i replied simply like this, ” No. But who is that girl?”

Sadly, my sister didn’t remember the name and so i didn’t care after that. Then, another week, i back to my hometown, Tambunan, and i didn’t have any ideas why that mysteries girl always coming in my mind. Tired of it, then on Tuesday night last week, i opened my internet and searching for this girl. Remember, i didn’t know her real name on that time! So, i just typed in that youtube searching column like this ‘Amazing girl Oprah’, and then i found all the video which was matched.

Then, i clicked one of those video, title ‘Charice on Oprah ‘, and guess what? I got chills after watching her sings ‘ I will always love you’, and i was like ” My God! how come i didn’t know about this amazing singer for so long !.” Yeah, and i’m gonna tell you that, i am her die hard fan now coz’ i spent about 1 weeks searched herself singing in youtube and she likes a new drug to me, i downloaded all of her video and i was totally blown away by all her performances.

Hey! Philippines Rocks! by the way, so sadly …im malaysian. lol…!

Okey, another things is, These 3 idols are my favourite singer, which are Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, And Mariah Carey…but after i watched Charice sings , I have to renew my top lists now…and there are Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Charice Pempengco! I have to drop Mariah Carey in my top list coz’ hmm… Mariah Carey nowadays is no more Mariah Carey i used to know since im a childhood, she nowadays has changed so much… she appeals more sexy than her great talent! For Mariah Carey fans out there..please dont hate me…but, i still hear her music and still great to enjoy for.

Lets talk about Charice now….. Why i like Charice Pempengco? I like her because, she proofs that Asian also could sing amazingly like western singer and i think i am not the only one determined this things… Charice sings very pure! I mean …. she is completely, very different from the other singer out there nowdays, …. Charice… she sings with her heart and i really want to cry everytime i watch her “Note to God’ videoclip. My Gosh! Who is she actually! !!! Her talents is really from God… i tell you that! hmm…. I cannot wait for her first US album. Im sure gonna buy it!

My advices for Charice … i hope that she always remember her roots from… eventhough she got higher voice… i hope she still humble and honest for her family, hometown and especially her new fans… like me… coz im her new fan from Malaysia… and please !!! Please always remember GOD! HE is the only one made all you dreams came true! Everything in this world are come from HE…. so Charice dear… Take my advices… and i am sure i am not the only person tell like this before… Hope to see bright future in singing for you, Charice. Good Luck and God Bless!

ps – I forgot to tell you that Charice gives me an inspiration and her life story encourage me to believe GOD again. Thanks God!

I was watching CNN news this morning, which featured a 45-day program for “internet addicts” that costs $1,400.00. Now- don’t worry! Chaddicts do not want to be cured! Actually, you are on the right track- writing about your experiences and feelings is the best compliment for the relentless youtube and article search… just share them with us because we truly appreciate it as well (like how we love your piece above). Connie, Welcome to the Wonderful World of Charice!

Hi Connie, I am so touched the way you expressed your feelings and I’ll tell you something I felt that way too. How awesome CHARICE is and I pray that God will continue to protect her and her family and of course all of her fans and supporters.

God allow this to happen because He wants us to realize that with Him nothing is impossible, if He wants to bless you He will do it without any conditions.

Connie, you are young too and because you have a good heart God will bless you all the way. Be good always.

    Becky,

Charice is a multi-faceted diamond and Connie drew our eyes to the rainbow she saw. I couldn’t help noting that the sparkle did not dazzle as if to fend her off. Instead it invited her in and led her to appreciate the Light shining in her life.

Connie, greetings! Now that you have experienced the joy of discovering Charice, I invite you to listen to Boy’s interview with Charice and replay the 6th segment that you find on You Tube. The whole interview has been translated into English, if Tagalog is not one of your languages. Here you will experience with Charice the triumph of the spirit that Phil Bosta writes about.

Boy (of Boy N Kris, a TV show) gathered copious lessons from this interview. One is a lesson on self-definition from the pain Charice felt when people took pleasure in her defeat. Put down by unkind words, she took counsel from the one who loved her unconditionally. Mom counseled patience then took her to Quiapo Church to pray. And she prayed, “In You I trust….Kayo na po ang bahala.”

Boy summed it up: Other than God and the ones who love you, don’t let others define you. In other words, affirm your uniqueness, challenge the opinions of those who would kill your dreams. Ask, “Do they know me as I know me?” and answer like Charice sings in Fingerprint, “Not even close.”

Connie, I am thrilled to learn that you were drawn back to God by Charice. I invite you to draw another lesson, this time, from Charice’ prayer at Quiapo Church. The lesson is that God answers all prayers.

The answer sometimes comes in very recognizable events like what Charice now sees in her life. To Boy she confided that after her first experience of a deep communion with God at Quiapo Church, events began to unfold, starting with an invitation from Sweden. To Oprah Charice declared that God listens to her and Oprah remarked that the duet with Andrea Bocelli “The Prayer” held a special meaning for Charice. In that song, she prayed for those who mocked her: that they may learn to extend their hands in brotherly love; that they may find in their soul love for others. At this prayer and the prayer she said at Quiapo Church, God unleashed events that would help the mean-spirited turn their jeers into cheers. For some of them, more prayers and more wonderful events will be needed and God won’t disappoint them.

The less obvious answer to her prayer, “Kayo na po ang bahala…” was freedom from the oppressive taunts. She was freed from the need to trade unkind words for unkind words. She and her mom did not want to have enemies. This inner freedom gave her greater creativity to reinterprete with her mom Maghintay Ka Lamang (Just Wait) and compose You and Me Against the World. Many more songs are in the making and will see their day. The world waits with eagerness, echoing Boy’s “Mabuhay ka, Charice….Long live, Charice.”

You can join Charice in prayer as she sings O Holy Night, a prayer for all times, not only at Christmastime. When you find yourself in “the night of the soul” and darkness surrounds you, turn to the Light that gives the soul its worth. On her knees at Quiapo Church, the night of her soul turned holy when it became a moment of encounter. She heard angels sing. Her weary soul rejoiced. A new relationship with Christ was born. It was a night divine.

Then walk with Charice back to Quiapo Church in thanksgiving and dance as she sings Joyful, Joyful. Lastly, write A Note to God that your may overflow and have strength to end hate in this world. May you live forever.
