Charice – Havin’ Fun With The Piano

piano1 75x75 Charice Havin Fun With The PianoHere is Charice at the piano.  She is playing and singing “The Climb”.  She writes in YouTube, “Sorry.   I’m not really a piano player. haha! but at least.. i tried. Anyway, I love Miley.. I love THE CLIMB!“  Charice openly admires Miley Cyrus.   This is why Charice is so special.  She has never said or wrote a derogatory word about anybody. When our princess learns to read and write music, look out Mr. David Foster.  Is this a composer in the making?

Charice would always try new things….lets give her time to learn how to read notes and write music and she would be one day, able to follow David Foster’s footsteps.
    Good luck charice!!!

    Dear Rocsky #23

Jag skriver nu på mitt eget språk och skiter i om du eller andra förstår vad jag menar. – Well, did you understand? I guess not. When you comment here at ChariceMania you still have to follow the rules and use the English language, not Taglish. English is not natural for you, and it is not natural for me, but it is the way that we are able to communicate with Charice’s fans around the world.

On purpose I did not give a correct translation from Filipino to English. What I presented was what one might infer from the English fragments of your text. I knew that this was opposite to what you and I really mean. You might write either: ‘C. should limit her singing of oldies’ or ‘C. should not limit herself to the singing of oldies’ and I would totally agree. It is important that she also caters for the tastes of the younger generation – your teenage children and my teenage grandchildren.

Whenever i try to gave comment and express myself i rather do it partly on my own language because thats what i feel better in communicating with Charice and never to anyone else due to difference in personal opinion. Omie, please FYI i was not telling Charice not to sing songs of yesteryears in ENGLISH.. but to rather LIMIT , DICTIONARY DEFINES..limit..1 N.a point or level beyound which something does not or may not extend or pass 2, (often in pl)the boundary of an area, 3, the greatest or smallest amount permissible or possible ( upper limit or lower limit)and 4, MATH. a quantity which a function or sum of a series can be made to approach as closely as desired. Iam already on my early fifties, what do you think is my kind of music??? its JAZZ and for sure oldies but goldies and if iam not mistaken, Mr DAVID FOSTER, HIMSELF WANTS CHARIES TO EXPLORE, SING RECORD new songs that could communicates to younger generations.Honestly i find your translation ( Filipino to English very confusing) i didnt say Charice should sing all hit songs in Tagalog or Filipino i just said.. to clear this once and for all, that Charice should sing new hit single more( to add some more on her new collections) because on my observation especially here in Manila the audiences( SMX convention center) thats include my children digs for lady gaga, halo, etc and other new hit singles from Charice. SOONER CHARICE WILL HAVE HER OWN SONGS AND THATS WHAT WERE ALL ANTICIPATING.. This WILL SURELY BE ENTIRELY ORIGINALS CHARICE SONGS AND AGAIN I SAY .. WILL limit our princess singing cover songs..

What you write is meaningless to those like me who can only read the English fragments of your text. You seem to imply that Charice should only sing hits of yesteryears (in English?) and that new hitsongs should be in Tagalog. That would of course be suicide for Charice’s international career.

However, I have got help with a translation so I know that this is not what you mean, and that the word ‘not’ is most likely missing in the 2nd sentence. What there is to learn for you is that ChariceMania is a website for Charice’s fans of all nationalities. If you want to be understood also by us non-Filipinos you have to follow the rules and write in English. There is no demand of perfect language, only that it is understandable.

Charce should learn to sing new hitsongs, ang daming bagong kanta na mas baqay sa kanya. She should limit herself singing hits of yesteryears. During her concert at smx convention center, nabuhay ang dugo ng mga audiences especially teens, (thats include my kids of course) when she rendered Beyounces Halo.I hope Charice would be perfecting piano lessons, to prepare her into the mainstream of composing…at least tagalog songs…

  10. ArrVee says:

She is an artistic genius, the most prominent manifestation of which is her singing. Her vocal talents are one thing, but the perfection to which she renders any song, nailing every note perfectly, even last minute arrangements, reveals more about her genius. She is a quick study, easily memorizing songs with all their nuances, twists, turns and timing. She seems to have a map of a song in multiple dimensions in her mind, and she can feel every detail of it in space, time and emotion. The impromptu duets she had (like that in Korea) show this. She can be interrupted mid-song, then immediately pick it up again, without any hesitation, like nothing happened.

This skill extends to her other faculties, like her dancing. She has a natural rhythm that just oozes out of her as fluid motion, like a direct-wired expression of what she feels internally.

Though she does not read notes, she plays the guitar decently enough. The guitar, piano and possibly other musical instruments are just natural extensions of her senses, which are directly wired to her music and rhythm-based neural net. With enough practice, she can be a total performer.

There is so much more than meets the eye with this girl, though what meets the eye (and ears) is not bad at all …

Typographical correction on my previous comment:

    Instead of:
… She naturally recreates an old song employing the basic vocal tools that NOT anyone, even a layman, could have used but never bothered nor did not know how and when to use….

Correction: please remove the word NOT, in order to read:
….She naturally recreates an old song employing the basic vocal tools that anyone, even a layman, could have used but never bothered nor did not know how and when to use….

    Thank you.

This is probably a good time to say this.

I was asked why I love the voice and personality of Charice.

For those who, for some reason, cannot hear what I can – every time Charice sings, what sets her apart from MOST singers is the EXPRESSIVE manner Charice does so effortlessly, specially in live, impromptu performances, that never fails to impress me. Like a writer who expresses his craft with exclamation points, commas, etc., Charice does the same. She naturally recreates an old song employing the basic vocal tools that not anyone, even a layman, could have used but never bothered nor did not know how and when to use. The ability of soaring and holding high notes in considerable length and then gliding down comfortably in a fashion akin to the sweetest sounding bird praising the heavens, but with much more power in Charice, is only one part of her natural gift of musical eloquence. Put all together, her renditions exceed that of most singers and adorably justify her divine instrument. For those who say she is a copy cat – singing a cover that is better than the original is not a copy. It is not surprising why David Foster DARES to present Charice to the world.

I can go on explicitly to say what the experience in listening to Charice is like and what it does to me but still run out of words to completely capture it. To sum it up in one big word, experiencing Charice is, simply — MAGICAL.

As for her other abilities, playing different musical instruments simply by ear and creating musical compositions are amazing. Slowly unfolding before my eyes (and ears!), is a Charice who is beautifully transforming into a complete package of entertainment, worthy of pride of her nation, acclaim of the world, the music industry in general and, as a bonus, emulation for her humility, generosity and family values. Her standing ovations would never have been more apt.

    Now, isn’t Charice rare?

Quoting from a July 28 LA Times article on Whitney Houston’s new album: “I LOOK TO YOU has been bumped to Aug. 31 from Sept. 1, a 24 hours difference that will now make the artist eligible for Grammy consideration”. Hmmmm…does this mean that Charice’s debut album has to be out before Sept. 1 to be eligible for the Jan. 31, 2010 Grammy Awards? I’m holding my breath.

I listened to Whitney’s new “I Look to You” title track (streaming and free download ’til July 31) and the glaring difference to me is that this one song has no powerful highs (that put her on top in the music world). Maybe some of the others in the album will but it could be that at 46 and her abuse history, she can no longer consistantly sustain high notes like she used to…ENTER CHARICE!
