Schäriß, ein Sommermärchen/Sheriss, a Summer Fairytale

charice4 75x75 Schäriß, ein Sommermärchen/Sheriss, a Summer Fairytale Hi everyone!  At last it´s summer!  Let´s have  a little break from all those stress and hardships and all.  Here is something to lighten or brighten up our days!  Happy reading everyone, comments are welcome.  As usual, english translation after German.

Sie will weg, weit weit weg.

Was war da?  Eine Bühne, man darf was vorführen.

English Translation:

SHERISS A SUMMER FAIRYTALE!

There was once a young girl named Sheriss. She lived with her aunt. The aunt, of course, has two daughters. They´ve always annoyed Sheriss and ordered her what to do. She was very shy, hardly spoken. But she has a dream that one day, she will go far from this place. To discover the world. But just how?

Whenever Sheriss was alone, mostly on the river, in the woods, she sings. Because that’s what makes her happy. She is happy when she sings.

One day she heard the sisters were talking and listened.  The two want to go to a  celebration. At the castle of the royal family. Because the son of the king,  Prince Henry David Frederick William III (princes always have multiple names), is celebrating his birthday. The prince is marriageable. Sheriss thought that she would like to go too. Wear a beautiful gown perhaps.  Maybe sing for the Prince too.  She  took all her courage together and asked the cousin, “May I go with you too?”. The oldest cousin screamed, “You? You’re not even pretty  enough to go there!”. The younger cousin also adds, “You don´t even have  a dress.”

Sheriss  ran out crying to the forest, her refuge. She  now realized she has no place in her home because that is not her proper home. She cried and cried  until  she fell asleep. What  she  did not know, a good fairy, was observing her. She was always there to listen whenever she sings (a SHEddict I guess).  After all, the fairy godmother fell in love with her beautiful voice already. And she pitied her.

“Wake up Sheriss, please wake up!”, she whispered.  ”Go back no more, because starting today you’re free!”. Sheriss woke up and thought, what a dream. But she knew what to do. She wants to go away, far far away.  So she walked and walked, until she came into  a village.

On the market was a celebration. Many vendors sell all kinds of things. Very very colorful and it smells so wonderful too,  fresh fruits, fragrant flowers, smells like  summer. Then she saw people gathered, children and adults. What was that? A stage, where people were allowed to perform or show something. A young Man juggling with apples. A woman played puppet theatre. An old Man conjured a bunny from a hat. “Who can do anything else? Who wants to perform one more thing?” Asked someone from the stage. “What is with you little lady?” He asked, pointing to Sheriss. “Who me?” She asked shocked back. “Yes, you!  Don´t be  shy, come up!”. Sheriss followed, went up on stage. The people cried, “This may be nothing, what could she do? She´s  too small and ugly.” “Can you dance? Can you sing?” Asked the Man “I’ll try to sing,” she whispered. “Well, that is quite something.” Then she started to sing. She sang, “Every night in my dreams, I see you, I feel you… that is how I  know you go on… Far across the distance and spaces between us, you have come to show you go on…. And you’re here in my heart and my heart will go on and on ” .  Sheriss thought of her mother and misses her very much.

The audience were very quiet the whole time. At the beginning there were only about 20, then 30, then approximately 100.  Some have tears in their eyes, men and women who have not noticed it. Then, someone started to clap,  all have been awakened. Clapping with their hands and stomping  with their feet. They screamed, “More more more!”  Wait, where did she go now? The girl was gone and nobody has noticed it. Sheriss was gone. She ran again to the forest. She was so happy! She couldn´t  describe it. She  just thought, she would do that again.

And so she went from village to village to sing. Every time the people were very enthusiastic. Every time she was also gone. Nobody has ever seen her again. But people couldn´t  forget her beautiful voice which penetrated in their hearts.

Wait a minute, there´s still a prince. Oh,  almost forgot him. He was with his servant in the woods, riding on a horse of course. They heard a voice. A voice of a girl, singing. “A beautiful voice,” thought the prince.  They tried  to follow the voice. But found no one. Because there´s a kind of magic there,  to protect Sheriss from wild animals. The good fairy did a good job on that.

And so it took days and weeks. Every day the  prince went to the woods to listen to Sheriss. Every time the prince was so happy but every time he comes home, he was also very very sad. Because he knew he was in love. The queen could no longer see him that way so  she asked the king.   The King has given a command, they should look after the girl.  But unfortunately unsuccessful too.

One day the prince had a good idea. He wanted to invite all girls. They will sing. He wanted to hear each voice, rich and poor girls. And then came all the parents with their daughters to the castle. The queue was long. Hundreds have sung, hundreds had to leave the castle again. The prince was very very disappointed. He was about to give up the search (his ears have been hurting). Suddenly he heard a voice ……

“Every night in my dreams, I see you, I feel you… that is how I  know you go on… Far across the distance and spaces between us …You have come to show you go on…. ”

That voice! The prince opened his eyes! And there stood before him, a beautiful girl. Small and dainty, long black hair with curls. She sings more …..

“You have come to show you go on…. And you’re here in my heart and my heart will go on and on ”

The prince had tears in his eyes, knelt down before Sheriss and thanked her. He said, “You are my life, my inspiration, without you I no longer wish to live ….!”

And Sheriss? She smiled and replied, “Me too my prince!” They hugged each other and the people cheered for joy! A big celebration was held at the castle. Everyone was happy!

What do you think how the story went on to continue? They married and lived happily ever after? Until the end of their lives? No! Sheriss just wants a career first before they marry and have kids. One doesn´t marry anymore under 18!  She became famous first and became very very happy ……

NOTE:

The story, characters are fictitious. Similarities are not excluded. Dreams (and reading) at your own risk!

It was summer, therefore the title. In winter, it´s very very cold  to sleep in German woods.

Vielen Dank für die wunderbare Story. Ich war durchgeführten entfernt! ( Thank you for the wonderful story. I was carried away! )

It would be nice if you will continue the story from here… how about putting others character like a Nemesis with a Long Hair? But Sheriss is strong enough to defeat her nemesis (with a long hair)… Sheriss is a wondderful and loving daughter but nemesis is a “prodigal son”.. how’s that?

Please Schoen… do a sequel of your story…

    Schoen,

This is a very beautiful adaptation of Cinderella. Very fitting for Charice, whom we call our Princess – a modern princess. A short animation went through my mind as I was reading your short story. Quite entertaining. Thanks for the summer treat.

    Schoen,

You need to go on vacation more often. This is a great fairy tale which is coming true before our very eyes. When I was a child, nursery rhymes and stories were always read to me either at home or in school. Yes folks, elementary teachers taught differently then.

My favorite story was Cinderella. I fancied myself as the Prince who found, lost, and found again with the aid of a glass slipper his true love. You have just penned an updated version of the best fairy tale of all time…..until now.

As Chasters, we get to live your fairy tale over and over every day simply by clicking a pointer a few times. Now you have grabbed our attention and taken us to the palace once more. Then, you stopped because that leaves us to wonder at this continuing saga. However, the fairy tale plays out; it just keeps getting more and more exciting. Sheriss should wait until at least 25 years of age to marry, heheh.

    Thank you.

Thanks for being an inspiration. A day with out visiting this site makes my world dull.

    Have a fantastic day everyone.
