You sell yourself short. You are a very eloquent writer. When you have an article ready, and I know you will, send it to me please. I think you are right up there with LoloLando, JP, OMIE, and FLTom for the potential to produce a great article I would be proud to post here in Charicemania.

Now 18WheelerEdy I might have to polish up a bit, heheh. But I bet an article by him would be wonderful. What say you, 18-W-E?

I also was raised to open doors, say thank you, and be polite. I’ve found there are plenty of quality people who appreciate it. This is particularly true here in the Charicemania community. Not everybody subscribes to that belief, but most do.

OMIE you can’t go anywhere. We need positive role models here. From what I can see Charice doesn’t display any meaness and is always ready to move on (pitbull). Now that doesn’t mean she doesn’t hurt when she reads negative comments, but she is an example I would like to see all of us follow.

There is too much intolerence and lack of respect in today’s society. Can’t tell you how many times i’ve held the door open for people, without even an aknowledgement of thank you; as if it was my job. But I will continue to do my parents teachings, say bless you when people sneeze, say good morning to people and give a smile. Life is short and we might as well go thru it happy because we don’t know when it might end.

Just follow Charice’ lead. How can you go wrong? OMIE continue listening to Charice. I really believe she is the best natural medicine around.

Guys what is the big deal about Regine getting sick> She got sick, no show, then move on. Charice deliver an excellent concert which millions fans around the world enjoy, then let move on, and go to another event, not unless some of you were die hard fans Regine.

But anyway, move on guys, and don’t dwell on the past, Charice up coming events should be the focus of the chasters.

First to all thanks to all who have commented upon my post #42. There are enough of people who have the same vision of what I want a fan-site to be. Disagreements are OK with me, but what I wanted was to see more of what in the British Parliament is called “Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition”. In spite of this analogy we are not concerned with political power here. Our area is called entertainment, and power for us has to do with power ballads. Therefore, our debate should not degenerate to the level where the political debate sometimes is. If lack of civility is tolerated because such is Filipino nature then I would accept that and leave immediately. I would also suggest that Charicemania change language from English to Tagalog. – However, I am telling you I’m not going. I’m staying.

Personal attacks are handled very well by the Charicemania staff – thanks friend Max – and Filipinos have greater respect for people of my own generation than what I am used to from my own culture. I appreciate that, and if I have reacted it has been in the other direction. That is, when I have been treated with excessive politeness by Charicemania staffers.

Blackrose #51 is commended for understanding what my post #42 was about, not how we treat each other but how we write about those whose actions we don’t like. Some include Regine Velasquez in this category but the obvious example is Freddie Aguilar. His recent criticism of fellow Filipino singers has been off-limits here in Charicemania. Charice as one of Aguilar’s targets has handled the situation admirably. An article at http://www.abs-cbnNEWS.com July 13 cites Charice’s reply in Tagalog and then summarizes Charice’s position in English:

Despite the controversial remark of the “Anak” singer, she holds no grudge against Aguilar. She said she still admires him and respects his opinion.

Therefore, let us take Charice as our role model and learn from her how one acts in conflicts.

What i like in this charice’s site is most people/friends/fans/fellow human beings are all very intelligent (without a blink of an eye). Everything made sense…. really!!!!

To omie, eventhough i don’t know u personally but it seems u already touch somebody’s soul here.

Please dont leave this site. I very rarely post here but I am a reader and your opinions about Charice we value. Please dont leave.
Agewise, I am like you – an old woman in Orange County (California).
If you leave, there will only be few of us so please please stay. There are lots of them young ones here so we need to keep our generation well represented.
Please stay. It will be lonely for us “young once” if you leave.

pls. don’t leave this site…and we beg you…alright i am one of those chasters who kind of doubted Ms. Regine…it’s not that i was hatin’ on her…it’s just that i was sad for charice for she was expecting her on the show…and i know i only added to the heat…and if charice may have read my comment, i know she would be sad…and OMIE you definitely did nothing wrong and there’s no reason/need to apologize…it is me whom i believe needs to apologize to chasters and to charice for doubting.

i got carried away with all the mean things they would tell charice (media) and it hurts me (before charice’s concert) and added by regine’s absence made me disappointed.

so pls. stay OMIE, we truly appreciate your involvement here in charicemania…CHEERS…

It is not surprising for Filipinos to love and support Charice but it is not only a welcome surprise but heartwarming as well to know that a number of non-Filipinos are among her most dedicated supporters here. Omie, please stay, your knowledge and perspective are a pleasure. Jester@39, Purplewillow@38 – hope to see more comments from you. Max, I’m glad you will be editing out the negative, but that is the nature of the world unfortunately. For my part, I simply skip what I don’t agree with and move on.

The debate “culture” is international, however, not any moreso to filipinos. Look at the debate regarding Sotomayor as Supreme Court justice, for instance.

I have more to say, but I am being called for dinner. I just hope all chasters continue to support this site!
