È proprio grazie a Oprah che il produttore David Foster la prende sotto la sua ala, facendola debuttare il 23 maggio al concerto internazionale Hitman: David Foster and Friends con una medley di canzoni dei The Bodyguards.

Ed è qui che Charice conosce uno dei suoi idoli, Andrea Bocelli, che le propone un duetto: avverrà il 20 luglio al Teatro del Silenzio, con The Prayer.

Ma non basta: un’altra grandissima, Celine Dion, sentendo la ragazza cantare una sua canzone di nuovo dalla Winfrey, non potrà fare a meno di apparire via satellite per invitarla a duettare in apertura del suo tour, cosa che avverrà il 15 settembre a New York.

Quest’anno poi, tra altre partecipazioni, Charice Pempengco è stata ospite anche da noi in Italia al talent show Ti lascio una canzone, sbalordendo Antonellona Clerici e i moltissimi di noi che non ne avevano ancora sentito parlare. Tanto che, dopo le prime apparizioni di aprile, è stata richiamata a furor di popolo per la puntata del 23 maggio.

La voce e la musica- La cosa più incredibile di Charice è che questo piccolo talento vocale sembra dovuto tutto a Madre Natura: sostiene infatti di non aver studiato canto, e che sua “allenatrice” è stata solo la mamma. Devid Foster ha inoltre definito la sua voce “mimetica”, caratteristica apprezzabile nei migliori cantanti. La piccola mezzo-soprano è già stata anche paragonata a Whitney Huston o Celine Dion.

Quanto alla produzione discografica, oltre ai cd già incisi nelle Filippine e con altri artisti, segnaliamo che ovviamente le case non si sono fatte scappare questo nuovo talento, infatti proprio per metà del 2009 è atteso il suo primo album sotto etichetta Warner Bros. Records.

Una standing ovation e un lunghissimo applauso hanno seguito la straordinaria esibizione di Charice Pempengco, 15 anni, filippina, che ieri sera ha incantato il pubblico di Ti lascio una canzone. Accompagnata da un coro gospel, Chiarice ha cantato Note to God, il suo inedito singolo, presentato in anteprima mondiale proprio in Italia, al talent show della Clerici. La cantante, più volte ospite alla trasmissione dei giovani talenti ieri sera si è esibita più volte nel corso dello show: aveva già sbalordito cantanto Listen di Beyonce con Chiara Iezzi (Chiara di Paola e Chiara), Ma con Note to God ha davvero sbalordito. Una vocalità impressionante, una voce dai toni caldi e adulti. Se si ascolta senza guardare il volto di una ragazzina, sembra di sentire una voce già matura.

Ti lascio un canzone – Sulle note di We are the world, cantata da tutti i protagonisti della prima e della seconda edizione del talent, tra cui Giuliana Danzè, Simona Collura, Gianluca Ginoble, Veronica Liberati, Le belle bimbe e tutti gli altri talentuosissimi ragazzini cantanti, si è chiuso il sipario sulla fortunatissima seconda edizione del programma. Un grande successo che ha reso Antonella Clerici la regina dell’Auditel del sabato sera: per tutta la sua durata lo show ha sempre vinto gli ascolti, lasciando indietro programmi cult come La Corrida e affondando lo storico Bagaglino. A questo punto tutto i fan del programma si aspettano la terza edizione.
