A recent example is Martin Nievera's rendition on Pacquiao-Hatton fight. Did NHI call the attention of Martin Nievera? Have NHI called the attention of all the thousands of singers who sang different versions? Can the NHI just get the attention of the organizers in private? Is it written on Section 37 to get the attention in public? In my opinion NHI looks bad in this incident. It appears that they want to ride in the popularity of Charice and at the same time collect money. There are more issues to address in the Philippines than just listening to all the "Lupang Hinirang" renditions and collecting money from the incorrect way of singing it. If pols fail, NHI should send them to prison. Then go after aspiring pols, teachers, students and all others for not singing the anthem correctly. After all tests, NHI should be prepared to jail at least 10,000,000 Filipinos. NHI must be fair and equal to all and not discrimate against hapless singers. If not able to jail a lot, at least pols are very acceptable for prison time. Charice (angel) had done a lot for the Philippines by blasting her way to American music scene single-handedly through hard work, honesty, sheer talent, diamond throat, perseverance and always no non-sense perfomance. With her, Filipinos were put again on world map and not for evil deeds. We hope Filipinos can emulate their angel to improve their lives and future.
