After a busy work schedule in the US that included recording for her international album, Oscar after parties at Mr. Chow and Oprah with David Foster, Charice returned to the Philippines to do a station ID shoot for a TV network. SNN and Star Patrol caught up with her for an interview.

Reporter: This is the large-scale location shooting of The Filipino Channel’s station ID video where international singing sensation Charice played the lead part. Charice is now in the Philippines after her fantastic performance at the Oscar Awards after party. Even now Charice can’t believe she had the chance to mingle with heavyweight Hollywood stars.
Charice: Backstage, I was really happy… Sean Penn, Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) were all there.
Reporter: But the biggest revelation was that of Paris Hilton asking Charice to have a picture taken with her.
Charice: She had a picture taken with me. Oh, she just thought I was really cute. She wanted to take me home (laughs) because I looked like a doll.
Reporter: Charice’s wish for her first international album…
Charice: I was thinking, hopefully even if it’s not an Oscar it would be a Grammy. For now, movies can wait. I hope that “Fingerprint” would be included in the Grammys.
Reporter: For now, she’s busy preparing for her birthday concert in May. She’s excited about her upcoming 17th birthday celebration that will be held in Las Vegas.
Since her birthday falls near the May 2nd date of Pacman’s (boxer Manny Pacquiao) title bout, Charice couldn’t help but offer an inspirational message to Pacquiao who, like her, carries the Philippine flag overseas.
Charice: He can… hmmm (ponders) just do an uppercut!

I’m with djbianca. She should be singing our National Anthem at the upcoming Manny Pacquiao fight. The world will see two Filipino superstars during the fight night. Manny will rumble in victory and Charice will spellbind everybody with her amazing voice.
Actually, I’ll be in Las Vegas to watch Manny’s fight and also Charice in the concert.
