International singing sensation Charice is back in the country for a short break and with tales from her Oscars after party experience. Last February 22, Charice performed at an after party of the prestigious Academy Awards at Mr Chow restaurant in Hollywood.
“Proud naman [ako] siyempre. Pagod ako ngayon pero kapag naiisip ko ang nangyari sa states…. Kasama ko si Michael Bublé na nag-perform, si Mr. David Foster,” said Charice, who arrived in the country Sunday to fulfill some of her commitments here.
— “I was proud of course. Right now I’m tired but when I look back at what just happened in the states… I performed with Michael Buble, David Foster,…”
However, Charice’s unforgettable experience in the party was meeting American socialite and heiress Paris Hilton. The 16-year-old singer recounted that when she first saw Hilton she initially thought that she was a snob.
“Hindi pala. She’s very nice pala,” she said, adding that Hilton is more beautiful in person.
— “No (or I was wrong). She’s actually very nice.
This was how Charice recounted their meeting: “Lumapit sa akin ‘yong PA (personal assistant) niya tapos sinabi, ‘have you met Paris?’ Sabi ko, ‘not yet.’ Tapos tinawag niya si Paris.
—” Her (Paris’) PA approached me and asked ‘Have you met Paris?’ I said ‘Not yet.’ The she called Paris.”
“Noong makita ako ni Paris nagulat siya. Tapos nalaman ko na napanood niya pala ako sa isang event at sa ‘Oprah.’ Nag-picture siya sa akin. Basta cute [na] cute siya sa akin. Gusto niya daw akong iuwi kasi para daw akong manika.
—”Paris was thrilled(?) when she saw me. Then I learned that she saw me in an event and in ‘Oprah’. We took a picture. She find me really cute. She wanted to take me home with her like a doll.
“Matangkad po kasi siya kaya mukha akong manika sa tingin n’ya.”
—”She’s tall, maybe that’s why she look at me like I’m a doll.”
On February 23, the young diva also attended Oprah’s after Oscar party at Kodak Theatre.
“Binigyan ako ng ticket sa Oprah so nanood ako. As in, nauuna pa akong nag-standing ovation noong tinawag ‘yong name ni Kate Winslet.
—”I was given a ticket to ‘Oprah’. As in, I was the first person to give standing ovation when Kate Winslet’s name was called.”
“Sa backstage ang super saya ko. Nandoon si Sean Penn, Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz. Si Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) nandiyan siya pero siyempre best part pa din noong nagkita kami ni Ms. Oprah,” Charice said.
—”I was particularly excited when I was at the backstage. There was Sean Penn, Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz. Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) was there, but of course the best part was when I saw Oprah.”
Charice, however, regretted that she was not able to take pictures of the Oscar winners.
“Ito ang nakakatawa. Hindi ko nakalimutang magpa-picture sa Oscar award (trophy) pero nakalimutan kong magpa-picture sa mga stars,” she said.
—”This one’s funny. I didn’t forget to get a picture with the Oscar (trophy), but I forgot to get pictures with the stars,”
Grammys
Charice’s first international album, which contains mostly original songs, is expected to be released this September.
“Actually, hindi pa sure kung ‘yong ‘Fingerprint’ ang gagawing single pero para sa akin perfect ang lyrics niya para sa akin at para sa lahat ng tao,” she said.
—”Actually, we’re not sure yet if ‘Fingerprint’ will be the (carrier) single but I think the lyrics are perfect for me and to all people,”
“Gagawa kami ng new song na magiging trademark ko ‘yong kakantahin ng tao dahil hindi si Whitney Houston ang kumanta kung hindi ako,” Charice added.
—”We’ll make a new song that will become my ‘trademark’. People will sing this song not because it is Whitney’s but because it’s mine,”
She said she needs to stay longer in the United States for the completion of her album under Warner Bros.
The singer’s 17th birthday will also coincide with the “The Repeat: David Fosters & Friends” concert at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
With the upcoming release of her international album, Charice now sets her eye on Grammy Awards.
“Kahit anong (award), basta makapasok lang ako at masabing nanalo ako sa Grammy ‘yon lang,” Charice said.
—”Any award, I really hope to be in and win a Grammy, that’s all,”

@Totoy
Remix version of “Born to Love you foever” by Charice, so off course it sounds like Charice cause it’s her cover song from her first PI album.
