Myx, the number one music channel marks yet another victory as the biggest names in the music industry convened in the Myx Music Awards 2009 last February 26 at the Meralco Theater in Pasig City.

Hosted by the much-loved VJ’s of Myx – Luis, Iya, Nikki, Drei, Bianca, Robi, Chino and Monica the show picked up energy from their excitement to celebrate the 4th annual music awards.

The night was packed with rocking performances by brilliant artists like Aiza Seguerra, Julianne, Maychelle Baay of Moonstar 88, Macoy Fundales of Kenyo, Nyoy Volante, Francis Reyes of The Dawn, R&B Prince and Princess Jay-R and Kyla and Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo. The crowd cheered as the country’s favorite band Bamboo played an engaging and head-bobbing number.

A star-studded line-up of co-presenters added glitz and glam to the awards as international icon Lea Salonga, singer-composer Ogie Alacasid, real-life couples Rachelle Ann Go and Gab Valenciano, Dingdong Avanzado and Jessa Zaragoza introduced the nominees. Music artists Geneva Cruz and Jeffrey Hidalgo, Kean Cipriano of Calla Lily and Lovi Poe, Jett Pangan and Precious Adona, Baron Geisler, Enchong Dee, Indie artists Ping Medina and Meryll Soriano, Lovi Poe, Krista Ranillo, Niña Jose, Regine Angeles, Mark Bautista, Jon Avila were present to hand over the awards. Comediennes Pokwang, Vice Ganda and Candy Pangilinan also brought laughter and merriment to the event.

The remarkable highlight of the evening was the awarding of the Special Citation awards to international music icons Arnel Pineda and Charice Pempengco.

In similar vein, the awarding of the MYX Magna Award was given to the monumental band The Eraserheads for their exceptional talent and inspiring contribution to the local music industry.

Sarah Geronimo has no doubt made quite a huge following as she bagged several winning titles as Favorite Myx Celebrity VJ, Favorite Media Soundtrack, Favorite Remake, Favorite Mellow Video, Favorite Female Artist, and Favorite Artist.
