The fact that this girl (yes, she is still a girl) is only 16 is what really blows my mind. God has not only blessed this girl with an unbelievable voice, he has also given her the biggest heart I have ever seen. With her Elvis-like charizma and a smile that can melt the coldest of hearts, Charice can and will rise to heights never before achieved. The world loves her, and she is showing through the way she lives her life that she loves it back. May God always bless and protect you and your family, Charice, as you continue to inspire and amaze all of us, both young and old. Only 16. Wow!

There are indeed children living in poverty even in well-developed countries. We can´t compare the possibilities from third world countries to industrialized nations regarding education. Some families are just struggling to survive. Even if there are benefits from the government. Comparing is never fair!

We can’t compare an industrialized nation to developing nation.France has estimated gross domestic product of 2.5 trillion dollars compared to Philippines’ national income and input of only 144 billions dollars.Oh well, i mean you can, but it’s not fair compare the two.Perhaps, maybe, lack of government funding could be the reason.

This is a response to the question on comment #41 by rlf.

“In some countries, like here in France… Nursery and pre-school till primary are free and school materials are free. The children have free milk supplies. Why can’t developing countries do that… especially our country the Philippines.”

Here is one of the primary reasons:
The Philippines has a bloated government.
I come from a municipality in the Philippines that had a population of about 18,000. As mandated by the Local Government Code, it is run by about 105 elected officials all receiving salaries. There are as many as 75 students per teacher in many classroms in the public schools. In contrast, the municipality that I lived in when I first came to the US also had a population of 18,000 efficiently run by 5 elected part-time councilors and a full-time appointed municipal administrator who had a degree in public administration. Except for myself, I don’t know of anyone else who wants to change it.

    Dear GM and Contributors,

First, let me say that we appreciate all the work you do to maintain this web site. It is arguably the Number 1 site to keep up with Charice’s exploding fame.

I don’t know how much work it takes to add English sub-titles to these videos, but the Charicemania team has GOT to be more timely in adding English to them. You are losing the impact they could provide in expanding Charice’s (and World Vision’s) efforts internationally by not doing this. Her vidoes are watched by millions in America. Charice will never be an international star until the language barrier is broken. That’s just the way it is.

Since the first article about World Vision, I researched the charity and found it is the highest rated charity I could find, and that’s marvelous.

“Your $30 a month ensures that the child you choose has access to food, clean water and health care. It will also build and support community projects that will transform his or her life – things like safe water wells, new schools and medical clinics.” Also, for $40 a month you can sponsor a whole family.”

Indeed, this is a noble charity but it is not that well known in America. English is spoken by more of the world than most languages. Adding timely sub-titles needs to be done some how, some way.

You’re getting a big bang for your buck and I challenge fans to sponsor one child. I am signing up for a child here in America. Charice is sponsoring seven and I’m sure she can easily afford it. It’s really nice to see her and her mother give back, especially since they tasted poverty firsthand.

  7. Dear Fans, Charice is doing the best thing in her life, is to contribute to society. Her savings start to over flow. This investment is a losing investment but a wise one. Some people, they prefer to go to CASINO and gamble their money. These people are old enough to know what is good and what is right. We can not dictate someone’s action only your conscience will tell you. It’s not too late for us to do one right thing even 1 right action out of 10 wrong. Try to be happy and share it to someone you love. Don’t be wicked. I love & respect Charice as a singer and as a person with a good heart. She is NOW a legend in her own time. Take care all of you. P.S. My time and your time is too short ! ! ! Think about it !!!

In response to Max: hi max if you are asking about World Vision yes it is a very active and effective NGO and charitable organization even in the remotest and far flung barrios in Philippines even in Mindanao (the LUMADS in Jabongga in CARAGA region is one of its many beneficiaries) WV coordinates with the appropriate govt agencies but arenot affected nor influence by politics.

To CHARICE : KUDOS TO YOU indeed you are a gifted child in many ways… just keep on dreamin and keep on doin what you have been doin they are wickedly brilliant yet pure.

It’s not a bad idea for ming to establish a non profit charitable org.
at a very young age, Her ATTY’s will help set it up besides, it will go a long ways on her TAXES also, she is doing it right now anyways (DF FOUNDATION, BIG BROTHERS SISTERS ETC.) and just imagine the worldwide exposure of our idol. This would separate ming from other so called spoiled Hollywood teen idols. THE MORE YOU GIVE – THE MORE YOU RECIEVE…

Charice again exceeded my expectations. First, she bought seven apartments and gave one to her grandmother. Now, she’s sponsoring a child. I knew she had a magnanimous and philantropic spirit early on, but I never expected her to start so soon. Charice continues to amaze us.

    God bless you Charice.
