I just have an observation though and correct me if I am wrong, based on posted comments in Youtube and other online media I have seen numerous comments that if you really read the context, implies to Superficiality and Vanity, from what I gather Charice was telling it as it is in her Oprah stint a few months back, she mentioned that people think that “She is not pretty enough or not good enough”.

I find it quite disturbing for country that is seemed to be filled with such talent and brilliant people that they would focus on the superficial things, based on this observation, in an equation between beauty and talent it seems to me that beauty will win and forget about the talent even if it means “sh*t landing on the face” of those who choose beauty before talent…

I also notice a bunch of people mentioning crab mentality- that term is kind of uncommon here in the U.S. but from what I gather it’s basically the same as slinging sh*t and dishing dirt to drag someone down from their pedestal HOWEVER I am utterly bewildered on why would such idiotic non-sense be casted on this very talented child who obviously brought so much glory to the Philippines.

I guess no matter how much glory and recognition this kid bring to that country, there is really no pleasing those- whose minds are already set to smear her name and drag it down along with their stupidity and idiotic behavior.

It’s really sad.

The whole Studio ownership of Talents in the Philippines should be overhauled! I know that it was patterned after the US of A entertainment industry but US moved away from such exclusivity clauses during the 1950’s.

There is something wrong with the Philippine system albeit the country is a democracy and the only Catholic country in the Far East. There seems to be a collusion between the government, the rich and the military thus the masses are always under the thumb of the powerful and the influential people.

Peruse if you will, the achievements of Arnel Pineda and Charice…who individually has imense talent but were only able to break the local scene by being recognized worlwide by outsiders. Both talents did not soar because of what? Lack of local recognition and backers from their homeland? Was it because they are not exceptional and exemplary? Undeniably not, as proven by what has transpired. Perhaps there were no equally talented people in the country who saw and recognized people of this caliber? But the Philippines is abundant of such people and even among those living and employed around the world equal if not excelling with others in their various fields of endeavour.

Media is a very strong tool in the awakening of the people about issues happening at home and abroad. It is an integral part in the formation of the human psche be it factual news reporting, movies, music, etc.,etc. Journalism, especially, has a moral duty to the public about truth and fairness not bound by the dictates of the government and the select few. Unfortunately, we can see the ‘reality’ in the Philippines where the public are only fed what the ‘powers that be’ deem to be consumed. Is it too much to ask from the ‘competing’ TV stations to spread the good news about this young talented Filipina so the poor and suffering masses may at least experience a reprive from their hardships and enjoy a few moments of bliss and pride? Perhaps not, because these local TV stations will no longer make money from Charice because she is now under Oprah?

The government and its people need to change if the Filipinos will survive and meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Time and again I have said, that this ‘diva thing’ is more than what meets the eye. Perhaps, just perhaps, this young talent Charice,in an innocent and nonchalant way, is opening a lot of things that people in PI will ponder about.

But at present, we can thank our lucky stars that we are among those fortunate people who can enjoy Charice and her God-given talent.

This is what im talking about… Charice impact is GLOBAL right now. we don’t need Filipino TV/NEWS politics. Why does any filipino artist need to be recognized abroad before she/he would be recognized locally? Suggestion.. Somebody should peruse/review her so called contract if there is any with abs-cbn. I thought Oprah was her manager. We need MAXIMUM exposure for charice for the sake of filipino entertainers that would follow her footsteps, every sensible filipino should support her.

Is there really exclusivity regarding news about stars among these tv networks here in the Philippines?That’s ridiculous.I noticed that only now because I kept myself abreast on news about this girl who is dubbed as “the most talented girl in the world”.If she is the most talented girl in the world and she is a Filipino, there must be something in her that is extraordinary.It is but right for these tv and radio networks to let the Filipino people know that a girl as young sa Charice was able to place our country in the map when it comes to talent in singing.If there is such exclusitivity, I hope that it will be lifted because it is counterproductive.

hi guys, just to let you guys know why GMA 7 could not interview charice, it is because charice could be an exclusive star of ABS, which means that she cannot due interviews from other networks because that would violate her signed contract and that she could get sued. same reason why GMA cannot do anything also because they can also be sued. unless ofcourse it is stipulated that she is not barred to do some guestings and interviews. I guess this also good for charice since this would protect her from the two networks mudslinging over their stars and avoid unneccessary interviews that could infuriate and create a baqd image for charice. especially those gossip reporters with the likes of Lolit and company.

It`s really heartwarming to listen and hear international news about charice. Even her concert abroad were all outstanding. compared here. Not much articles about her. As if the media is silent. AS if only half of the nation accepts her and the other rejects her. Even me I do not know already what to comment. Thats the price of success. I hope charice and mother can wisely make good decisions inspite of problems. They must pray and ask for the wisdom of the GODS.

I saw a bit of Charice news on her press conference at Libis in Startalk today, and I mean really bit. Nothing sort of ’special’.
Damn they should have reported more about her…coz she’s the real SPECIAL.
BTW, big thanks to this beatiful writer…Charice is given special recognition by foreigner…That she truly deserves…

The article was well written and the writer is again, one more of the millions being mesmerized by Princess Charice everyday.. all throughout the world.

Another thing i want to comment on is about the GMA – ABS issue.

Filipino artists should be smarter than how they are now. First and foremost, they are Filipino artists, they should remove this stupid ‘exclusivity; issue, even for news. It is so sad when a talent like Charice can’t be featured, guest or sing, in any other show of its rival networks. This is simply a moronic move from the network and is very much against the career of an artist.

It would only take one major artist who will take a bold move against this practice, and i hope artists in the Philippines who are really confident of their talents will not give in to this amazingly selfixh and greedy intention of the major networks.

I wonder what the local artist organization is doing to protect the interest of their members against exploitations of the networks.

Anyway, to Charice…. may your star continue to shine and inspire the world.

That’s the main reason why GMA7 cannot report everything about Charice because they are NOT ALLOWED, of which we do not know. I think for the sake of their own stars also or it’s because ABS CBN can sue them anytime if they broadcast Charice to their programs. They are always keeping an eye of each other. Even other networks in the Phils, you cannot find any news about her or just saying her name.
It’s sad but that’s business…
