It’s a battle between KC Concepcion and Charice Pempengco on the top of the OPM Albums chart released by Odyssey Philippines early this month.
After its debut at the #10 spot last June 15, KC’s first album entitled ‘A. K. A. Cassandra has zoomed up and lands on the top spot this July, preventing Charice’s album to rule the chart.
Charice Pempengco’s self-titled album has been on the chart since its release last May.
Previous champ ‘My Girl’ has slipped to #4 this month, but it can still be considered a huge hit because it instantly landed on the #1 slot during its initial release.
Kapampangan gay artist Ara Muna must be so proud with the massive success of his Tagalog version of ‘Sometimes When We Touch’ as it helps the album stay in the chart for over 3 months already.
It was even #1 for weeks and currently, it is still performing well at #7.
Most of the artists in the Top 10 and even in the Top 20 are talents from the Kapamilya Network.
Odyssey Philippines releases the Top 20 Album chart on a bi-monthly basis.

Kurdapya has a point but the way she structured her thoughts seemed to irritate some here. I got comments from people here in Canada why they like to buy KC’s album. They love her songs and some of it is originally made for her.It is soothing to the ears and you can listen to it over and over again without being tired.While our beloved Cha, has a magnificent voice she has no orig songs yet to boast.And you noticed that if she sings over and over again her signature songs like ” I am telling you etc… a lot would suggest if she can sing other songs etc..but because we love her so much we bought her cd’s no matter what.. if only she has her own song then that would be fulfillment.But even if she did not get the # 1 her status can’t be equalled.. I am still an undisputed fan.

Charice, you have the voice but my opinion, other singers got more money to buy their own CD and got more power and pull from management to have their CD distributed earlier than yours. Congratulations to you Charice for being on top. Many of us are still waiting for our orders.

Well, having a powerful voice like Charice doesn’t mean she always have to be in the top spot. A lot of people are tired of listening to a voice like hers…I saw her guesting at Ellen’s show and man! I would suggest that she takes it down a notch, she likes doing it overboard and it’s irritating. Just wait a few more days and she’d be in the top 20 and that’s not mystery (if that’s how you call it). Not everyday likes her way of singing and that’s all I can say.
